California's Route 38

Route 38 is from:

  • (a) Route 10 near Redlands to Route 18 near Baldwin Lake via Barton Flats.
  • (b) Route 18 near Baldwin Lake along the north side of Big Bear Lake to Route 18 near the west end of Big Bear Lake. [CS&HC Sec. 338]

    Truck Routes and Terminal Access

  • Route 10 to Bryant Street: Terminal Access.
  • Bryant Street to southern junction of Route 18 west of Big Bear Lake at Big Bear Dam: California Legal (40-foot KPRA). 0.6-mile break on Route 18.

    Notes

    This road, like any other mountainously treacherous forest road, it is "long and winding". There are several campgrounds on the way, especially in Barton Flats.

    This is yet another entrance to the lovely Big Bear Lake. Enjoy!
