Route 127 is from Route 15 near Baker to the Nevada state line via the vicinity of Death Valley Junction. [CS&HC Sec. 263.1] Where Routes 127 and 190 meet is called the Death Valley Junction. It is home to the historic (and still very much operating) Amargosa Opera House and Hotel. Route 15 to the Nevada State Line: Terminal Access. Baker is the self-proclaimed Gateway to Death Valley. The town is home to the world's tallest thermometer. Tecopa Hot Springs is located four miles south of Route 178 on Tecopa Hot Springs Road, heading southeast.
