California's Route 15

315. Route 15 is from: (a) Route 5 in San Diego to Route 8. (b) Route 8 to the Nevada state line near Stateline, Nevada via the vicinity of Temecula, Corona, Ontario, Victorville, and Barstow. F&E System Entire route. [CS&HC Sec. 253.1] Freeway Route 15 from: (a) Route 5 to Route 805. (b) Route 8 to the Nevada state line. Somewhere before Route 215 is the name Ontario Freeeway. Status Part (b) signed as an Interstate Highway. History Route 15 from Route 163 to Route 215 and again from Route 215 to Route 395 was once U.S. Route 395. Route 15 from Route 215 in Devore to the Nevada state line replaced Route 91. Route 15 from Route 215 to Route 40 replaced and even sits on old U.S. Route 66. In fact, Route 15 from Route 215 to Route 395 replaced Cajon Bl, which held three routes (66, 91 and 395) in one road, a rarity in California. Scenic Route 15 from: (a) Route 76 near the San Luis Rey River to Route 91 near Corona. (b) Route 58 near Barstow to Route 127 near Baker. [CS&HC Sec. 263.3] Points of Interest At the junction of Route 60 in Mira Loma is an Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. It was recently inagurated. Take a look; it's on Mission Blvd and I think westward. Route 15 is home to some of the most desolate and even pointless junctions around. At Route 10, for example, there's a nice-looking web of spanning bridges all around. I can't really say if all this concrete they used was, well, worth it; the road seems quiet so that it really doesn't need those bridges. But oh well.
