Webmastering

Web mastering is a combination of web page creation (HTML) and design and layout and maintaing a variety of types of web sites and web servers. Emphasis will be placed on good design techniques. Only basic computer literacy is required, although self-motivation is a plus since the course if fast paced.
Grade Placement: 11-12
Prerequisite: Keyboarding or proficiency
Credit: Fall Semester 1/2 Spring Semest 1/2 (you must take both semesters.

Available from Amazon.com and other retailers for very low prices. Though not strictly required for class work, it is suggested that students invest in a copy. This book covers both the basics of HTML and CSS as well as the newer, more advanced bits of code.

USB Pin Drive

Pin drive - a portable USB storage device

Available from Amazon.com and other retailers for low prices. Again, these are not required to participate in class, they are highly useful for transferring data to and from school. They are also useful for backing up your data.

During the spring semester, students are assigned a major web site design project where they are to design and construct a website for teachers here at Bellaire.
