Beccles Town Cricket Club Constitution

1. Name. Address and Colours

1.1 The Club shall be called the Beccles Town Cricket Club.
1.2 The Club shall play at such address as the Club in general meeting determines.
1.3 The Club colours shall be Navy & Cerise.

2. Membership

2.1 The membership of the Club shall consist of the President, Vice-presidents, Playing Members, Honorary Life Members, Student Members and School Children as defined by the Committee.
2.2 New Members shall be elected by the Committee and must be proposed and seconded by Members.
2.3 The Committee shall have the power to expel or suspend from the Club any Member who in their opinion shall be guilty of conduct prejudicial to the best interests of the Club.

3. General Meeting

3.1 The A.G.M. Shall be held between 1st September and 31st October each year. Notice of the meeting together with the agenda shall be sent to Members not less than 21 days prior to the meeting.
The business to be undertaken will always include:
• Amendments to the Rules (if applicable)
• Acceptance of financial statements
• Election of Officers
• Appointment of Auditor
• To receive Annual Reports
• To set Annual subscriptions and match fees for the forthcoming Season
3.2 The Committee shalt on request of not less than 12 Members of the Club and may on their own decision call an E.G.M. No less than 21 days notice shall be given to Members together with the purpose for the meeting.
3.3 The Honorary Secretary, not less than 21 days prior to the General Meeting at which such amendments are considered, should receive any proposed amendment to the Rules of the Club. The Rules of the Club may be altered, abrogated or added to at the General Meeting by the vote of a simple majority of those Members present.
3.4 The persons entitled to vote at a General Meeting shall be as follows:
3.4.1 As to the election of Officers of the Club - Members of the Committee, fully paid up Playing Members, Honorary Life Members, vice-presidents and Student Members only.
3.4.2 As to all other matters - Members of the Committee, fully paid up Playing Members and Student Members, Vice-presidents and Honorary Life Members.
3.5 Resolutions at any General Meeting shall be by a simple majority, by a show of hands or by ballot paper. The Chairman shall have the casting vote in the event of there being no majority.

4. Management

4.1 The transaction of the Club's business shall be vested in the Committee, which in addition to the powers of authority of the Constitution may exercise all powers and authority and undertake all acts in the day to day management of the Club which are not expressly set out in the Rules.
4.2 The Committee shall meet together, adjourn and regulate these meetings as they see fit and fill any vacancy that may be left after the AGM or occur during the season.
4.3 The Committee shall have sole financial control of the Club.
4.4 The resolutions of the Committee shall be by a simple majority, by a show of hands. The Chairman shall have a casting vote in the event of there being no majority.
4.5 The officers of the Club shall be elected annually and shall always consist of:
The President, The Chairman, The Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Fixture Secretary, Sponsorship Secretary, Membership Secretary, Press Secretary, Social Secretary, Ground & Equipment Secretary, Senior Team Captains and Junior Team coordinator.
4.6 The Secretary shall be responsible for all correspondence, the Notice, Agenda and Minutes of Annual, Extraordinary and Committee meetings.
Minutes of the aforementioned shall be presented at the following meeting for acceptance.
4.7 The Treasurer shall be responsible for all financial matters, including receipt of moneys, payments, banking, the production of budgets and the audited annual balance sheet/statement. The Treasurer shall also be responsible for up to date financial reports to the Committee.
4 8 The overall management of the Club shall be entrusted to the Committee. The Committee shall appoint the Selection Committee. The Committee shall be constituted as follows:
4.8.1 Committee
The President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Sponsorship Secretary, Membership Secretary, Press Secretary, Social Secretary, Ground & Equipment Secretary, 1st Team Captain, Fixture Secretary and Junior Team Coordinator.

5 Financial

5.1 The Club's financial year shall end on the 30th September.
5.2 The Auditor for the current year shall be appointed at the AGM.
5.3 Annual subscriptions and match fees shall be agreed at the AGM each year. Subscriptions shall be paid by the 1st June. The Cricket Committee may refuse to select Members whose subscriptions remain unpaid on this date. If subscriptions are not paid, the Committee may expel or suspend any Member under rule 2.3.
