Brian & Vanessa's  Wedding                         September 21, 2002 - Austin, TX

Places to Stay in Austin, TX
Pretty much any place to stay in Austin is CLOSE.  It's pretty easy to get around in Austin.  You can always find your good ol' standby chain hotels (like the Hyatt, Marriott, or Motel 6) and even your little hidden away B&B's.  Always check Priceline for good deals on ANY hotel listed below, or call to find out if they have any special prices this weekend.  You can also look for internet specials and/or book online at CitysearchAustin, Accomodation Locators, or Trip Advisor.   We've listed some general recommendations.
Hotels that are approximately 10-15 minutes from the wedding site:

The Governors Inn:  $59-$119  Cute, romantic bed & breakfast in downtown Austin near UT campus.

Austin Hilton North Towers:  $85 Very easy access to major freeways that lead to Barr Mansion.

Doubletree Hotel Austin:  $85-$100 Very easy access to major freeways that lead to Barr Mansion.

Austin Wildflower Inn:  $94-$139     A quaint B&B with gardens in a nice neighborhood near UT campus (breakfast included).

Happenin' hotels and B&B's that are closer to downtown (approx 15-20 minutes from wedding site)

The Austin Motel:   $52-$115   A funky, Austin original MOTEL.  :)  Nearby eclectic shopping and walk to Town Lake hike & bike trail for a jog or walk ($5 cab ride to 6th street).  Don't forget to walk over and watch the bats at sunset at the Congress street bridge.

Omni Austin Hotel Downtown:  $79-$189  Get all the luxuries of a BIG hotel (cocktail hour, etc), no comfort food here, although you can WALK to 6th street. :)

Holiday Inn- Downtown at Town Lake:  $79-$139  Once again, luxuries of BIG hotel, quick cab to 6th street and hop onto the Town Lake hike & bike trail for a jog.  Don't forget to walk over and watch the bats at sunset at the Congress street bridge.

Sheraton Downtown: $89-359  Right on 6th street.  It's been around for awhile.

Hotel San Jose $105-$175    Urban, funky & trendy where "musicians get a discounted rate."  Nearby eclectic shopping and walk to Town Lake hike & bike trail for a jog or walk ($5 cab ride to 6th street).  Don't forget to walk over and watch the bats at sunset at the Congress street bridge.

Hyatt Regency Austin at Town Lake:  $119-$185  Once again, luxuries of BIG hotel, quick cab to 6th street and hop onto the Town Lake hike & bike trail for a jog.  Don't forget to walk over and watch the bats at sunset at the Congress street bridge.

The Four Seasons:  $250-520  Nicest and priciest hotel in Austin.  Enough said.  But, check out comments on this link, not everyone happy.

Hotels and B&B's with scenery away from the hustle & bustle (approx 30-40 minutes from wedding site):

Vintage Villas:  $99-$179   Breathtaking view of Lake Travis, but quite a drive to downtown or even nearby shopping.

Lakeway Inn & Resort $149-$209 Many of the hotel's rooms overlook the water.  You'll have immediate lake access and a wide spectrum of recreational sports to choose from.
