One more day until the new year arrives on my side of the world. So far, I'm a bit afraid of it. Why? My credit card bill!
I actually brought some things on Boxing Day. Brought a couple of PVC figurines from two different locations & a pair of Air Jordan XX2 5/8 from Foot Locker. I really didn't need these things even though they were nice. Now, my credit card bill is stacking up & I was getting ready to use it for my car insurance. Now, I'm going to need two of my paychecks to cover the loss from my bill.
Since I'm going to work tomorrow evening, the first updates for the new year will appear the day after. This is just to get something in at the last moment. Happy new year, everyone!

Decided to do this update a little earlier since my usual one would come on Christmas Day. More accurately, Christmas Day night which would be too late for the Christmas downloads that I have been doing this month.
Managed to see my work schedule yesterday & found out that I'm working both Christmas Day & New Year's Day. My GM said that he wants to have everyone have one of the two holidays off. I get squat! Although I get double pay, my life isn't focused on money even though I blow it. At least I get Boxing Day off do to some shopping maybe. Need to see how good the sales are really. Don't want to drive out there & have long waits to find nothing good at all. Anyways, I get no holiday at all.
This site revamp thing is starting to tire me out. It's becoming a pain to re-do all my reviews to a new layout. I got too many of them! It's really going to take me a long time to fix them up due to work & willpower. This is what you get for making a website by yourself. Also, I've put off the special sections on hold again. The Pia Carrot!! 3 section is done, but I need to reformat it a bit to make it look prettier & easier to navigate. I got the GO & Crescendo on the side as well & they have been on hold for a long time. After re-doing planetarian, the new special sections will be worked on next. Anyways, please bear with me as I continue to revamp my pages. Still working on the complete anime reviews & will move onto the collectables next. I plan to see if I can throw a new anime review or two here before the year ends.
The final Christmas download is Lucky Star Okiraku Box (Konata Izumi Version). Like the other version, nothing much there. With it is the collectable review of Kadokawashoten Lucky Star Okiraku Box Konata Izumi Version. I may put another download this week if Boxing Day sales don't tire me out. That is if there is any good sales going on. So far, nothing good from Future Shop & Best Buy in terms of what I want. Until then, Merry Christmas everybody!

Lookie here! A new home page layout for this site. I actually had this ready, but revamped it a bit to include a footer frame. Put in a cute flash Miku Hatsune, the famous net virtual idol from VOCALOID2. I didn't make it. I found it on the net & it can be freely used. At least that's what I think since it came from a Japanese site & the code to put it in your own website. It's a flash animation, so be sure to have a flash player on your browser to see it. By the way, I pre-ordered the Nendoroid version of her. Anyways, I plan to change a lot of things on this site in terms of making it look nicer & move "white" space. Format changes will happen more than info updates as I have a lot of pages here & little time to do them. The changes will occur unannounced, so expect some 404s & inconsistent appearances on this site for a period of time. Possibly a long period of time.
Last week, I got some of my artbooks in with more to come later on. Possibly before this week ends since next week is Christmas. The rest will come next year for sure. All used, but in pretty good condition. Now, my shelves will need cleaning as well. My room is getting too stacked. Speaking of artbooks, I opened up an Artbooks section as I somewhat planned & mentioned last week. Basically, they are reviews with scans of the front & back of the books. I may not do any pics from the book directly since I don't want to scan them & wreck my book. May take some distance pictures of them with my camera & that's it. Currently, any links there will be broken. I only preset them for the time being. This week, DVDs & my ARIA 2008 calendar in the mail with more to come. I thought my ARIA calendar was a desktop version, but it was actually a wall one which I didn't want really since I don't like damaging my walls. At least it isn't a tearaway one which I don't like. It's going on my wall next month.
Also, I got my WF2007 Nendoroid Haruhi Suzumiya Bunny Girl set faster than I thought yesterday. More strange was that it was delivered at 7PM. Customs opened it & ripped the tissue paper covering it. No strange reason since I keep getting a lot of stuff this past week to now. They are on to me now! As for other stuff, I don't think I'll be getting them until after Christmas now.
Speaking of other stuff, I was informed that the Hobby Japan Ignis the Black PVC figurine has been pushed back to January 2008. A good thing since I don't want to get everything very close together. Customs must really be on to me.
Updates this week are complete reviews of Shakugan no SHANA-Tan Movie & Shakugan no SHANA-Tan. For downloads, I got Lucky Star Okiraku Box (Kagami Hiiragi Version). Nothing much there. As a side bonus, I threw in the collectable review of Kadokawashoten Lucky Star Okiraku Box Kagami Hiiragi Version since they are one product. Next week will be the final download of the month & I hope to find something for it. I would be lucky if I manage to throw some sort of review next week as well.

More anime crap coming to my house again. Whoopie! I'm starting to think if I should put reviews on artbooks now since I'm somewhat heading into that direction. I did some reviews on magazines & other books, so I don't think it would be strange. At least for me. Problem would be the pics. Some books are bigger than my scanner's scanning area & I don't like bending my books much as I'm a somewhat mint guy. Taking pictures with a camera may not be easy too.
Because of anime stuff, my credit card is burning a hole in my wallet. I've gone way over my monthly budget level. So, I've been restricting my self further this month on a lot of things. It's a mid month & I've got to save my money for other stuff that are important such as renewing my license for my car next month. The things I brought already went over my biweekly paycheck that I got last month.
Because one of our front desk agents is going back to school, we hired a new one in order to get the morning shifts covered as those are the shifts that I'm working on. Plus the current front desk agent has weird work days which makes the scheduling a challenge for our GM as I think he wants only one person at the front desk. Right now, we have one guy undergoing observation. In other words, letting him see if he likes & is fit for the job or not. There's another one that was suppose to come in & one of the shuttle drivers that works with us really wants her to come to our hotel. Don't really know the reason for it. Probably because the pay is higher here than where she's currently working at. I know this since I used to work that that hotel she's currently at. But she's probably out as she was taking too long to get an interview with our GM. Plus, I think she needs to send two weeks notice to her current job to switch to us properly & time is pretty critical at this point as January is approaching pretty quick & I don't think our GM wants to pay holiday pay to the new people while they are on training. The girl from the other hotel has my interest as I looked at her resume & was impressed by it. Plus, I know what kind of training she went under at her current job. For the guy, he doesn't have any hotel experience so it can take time. But if he manages to pick up well, I don't mind. Over two days, he's not bad. He admitted to me that he's a slow learner, but the progress is ok. Personally, I don't really care who gets the job as long as they like it & can do it properly. Chances are that the guy will win it & I think our GM told the other girl that the position has been filled.
In anime news, the New York Anime Festival 2007 last weekend had some anime license announcements. Media Blasters licensed Genshiken 2, Viz got Buso Renkin, & Bandai took The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Not much really & I didn't know there was an anime convention that was happening this past weekend.
Updates? I did mention that I was going to put a download every week for this month for Christmas. So, I did put one up. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya SOS Team Observation Diary is up & contains a screensaver. Nothing really big. Also up is a complete anime review of Potemayo. I hope to get more here next week.

First off, November 2007 stuff are in the Past News Archives now.
Lately, I've been artbook crazy. Although I've been getting most books that are actually guidebooks with illustrations in them & fanbooks, I've been stacking them up a lot. If it's got a fair number of illustrations in them, I get them. So far, it's mainly video game or anime related. Also, I go by the artist as well. Most of it is old stuff since I had interest in some of the old stuff before. Although they are somewhat pricey, I decided to get them now since I've got a better income level now. Plus, I want to get as much as I can as the Canadian dollar is pretty good against the US dollar. However, I feel that I have been spending quite a lot lately even though some of the items are pretty cheap. Plus, I fear my bookshelf space will run out this time.
For cheap advertisement, my online anime store tamago toys is holding a Christmas sale where most items are 40% off with a bonus for each order.
Enough cheap advertising, now for my yakking. At my workplace, some guests are being a pain in the ass. Some of them are being smartasses & some of them are acting so superior. They get on my case when I didn't do anything wrong or not knowing what the situation is. They think they are all right & so special. Moral of the story: don't be some sort of perfectionist cause nobody likes one.
This week, I saw my schedule saying I have three days off. I was like "Finally I get a break". However, my GM was wondering why I wasn't coming back after two days & tells me that my schedule was an "oversight". In other words, he screwed up. I knew it was too good to be true. Should have kept my mouth shut really. I've been in enough hell with guests during this evil holiday season & I don't need to be fed more.
Since my parents are back now (& sick since they went to Macau without proper clothing a couple o days before leaving Hong Kong), I'm planning to push this place up to speed. That is if work doesn't overpower me again this year. I'll try to get some Downloads going here every update this month at least. First off will be C.D.C.D (Circus Disk Christmas Days). Hope to get some more updates next week. Also, I want to try to redo one of the special sections by the end of the year. Chances of that happening is very slim. Why? Cause I need to clean my room for space as artbooks & some small amount of figurines are coming my way soon. Never got a good chance to really clean my room when my parents were not home.
