to the Ballet Jeunesse Company members on the March 9th and 10th Ballet
Jeunesse Concerts! The shows were beautiful! Thanks
to the Elissa and all the teachers, choreographers, parents, donors,
volunteers, stage crew and everyone who came to see the show - we couldn't
have done it without you!

was there can agree that the show went beautifully both nights.

- Ballet Jeunesse in Concert 2001:
The Seasons
Music by Glazunov, Choreography by Elissa Colombi Okin. A classical
ballet piece performed en pointe, depicting the changing of the four
seasons.
Tour de Vent
Choreography by Nan Tupa Wiggins. This piece represents a branch and
four leaves, and the ways they move in the wind.
Duets
Music from the soundtrack of "Shakespeare in Love," Choreography
by Elissa Colombi Okin. Five duets set en pointe with costumes and movement
inspired by Elizabethan times.
The Dance
Music from the soundtrack of "Cider House Rules," Choreography
by Elissa Colombi Okin. Depicting a father and daughter's relationship
over the years as experienced through her dancing.
I Hope You
Dance
Choreography by Elissa Colombi Okin, music by LeeAnn
Womack and John Mellencamp. This piece is performed by our graduating
seniors of 2001, with slides of each senior dancing at
different ages.
Steeping Out
of the Shadows
Choreography by Elissa Colombi Okin, music
by Denny Wynbrandt. Performed by the Junior Company, who our the younger
Ballet Jeunesse Company members.
Sanctum Sartorium
Modern dance, choreography by Shannon Fischer Titas. Music by Bob Priebe
(original score).
Silent Movie
Music, Various piano rags, Choreography by Elissa Colombi
Okin. A comical depiction of a black and white silent movie with subtitles,
complete with villans and damsels, cowboys and dance hall girls.
