The
Ballet Academy, directed by Elissa Colombi Okin, provides students with
intensive schooling in classical and modern ballet technique and form.
The staff combines the discipline demanded for ballet training with
a gentle and caring attitude that is rare in the dance world.
Available to students
at The Ballet Academy is participation in Ballet Jeunesse, a performing
company which presents original works in an annual concert. Ballet Jeunesse
allows young, advanced level dancers to experience the joy of performing
and the behind-the-scenes rigors of preparing a concert.
Each summer, The Ballet Academy
host an intense four-week dance camp, designed to strengthen the skills
of serious dance students. The program includes introduction to dance
history, makeup, costuming and other dance forms, such as modern and
jazz.
The Academy offers adults ballet
classes at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels as well as modern
and character classes taught by respected professionals.
