News Archive October 2001 10.31.01 Happy Halloween! Happy? Kinda Well it's Halloween today. AND supposedly it's the first full moon on Halloween in 46 years. Hehe pretty crazy. Well the day was spent doing...yup! You guessed it! 150 Project! I skipped part of EE120 and all of Econ Dis to work on this proj. It was kewl tho. I learned a bunch of new stuff. I found out that Slut (Mark) once again was causing UC Berkeley a bunch of repair costs. First off a history of Mark. Last semester he kicked a wall in Soda trying to rush out to stop from getting a ticket. Last semester, while pissed he broke a couple of wooden signs and kicked over a trashcan in Soda until it had a big dent in it. Apparently just last Saturday night he kicked the EE143 Room Window and caused it to be cracked. There is now a big sign saying, "Be careful when opening door. Window Broken." *shakes head* hahaha. A bunch of AACF folk came into lab around 10 pm and brought candy for all us EECS boyz stuck in lab doin 150 project. YAY!!! Heck Rich and Jack were wearing Bikini Swimsuit bras over their shirts =� Got a pic of all the EECS boyz and their debuggin toyz. Gotta get that pic so I can put it up =) Sugar RUSH!!! It was kewl tho. What else that was kewl was we fuckin got Check Point 2 to work!!!! AHHHH AHA HAHA HAHAAH. Wung and I were freakin crazy today. We dubugged like mad and got that ish to work. Hehe we even got our TA Randy to come in at 3:45 am to check us off =) Whoo Hoo! You kick ass...of course I had to go to Jack in the Crack and get him some food. But it was all worth it =D All in all...good Halloween. 10.30.01 150 Midterm, ug Well...it wasn't too bad. It was ok even. But as usual I fucked up on lil things...sigh. Back to lab later tonite. Man this class just doesn't let up! 10.29.01 Rain? It was raining today. Hehe it's nice to sleep until 1pm. Weird too. I ended up skipping class b/c...well I didn't feel like goin. I went to run some other errands instead. It was a nice break from school. =) I need those once in a whiles. Small group was nice. Did the lesson pretty quickly and there was some more Will bashing hehe. Those ladies have too much fun doin that. =D 10.28.01 HW HW HW Well today is going to be a nice break from lab. Why? Because Will has a BA paper and I've got EE120 homework to do. The fun never ends =) 10.27.01 No Party for U!!! Well it's Sat. nite and what am I doing??? I'm in lab. I missed out on a good party with good expensive drinks and supposedly a lot of cute girls. One's even a stripper in SF =) Sigh...the things you miss out on when you're in lab. This sux...oh yea. It still doesn't work. 10.26.01 No more work? Well, I went to work today and things were normal. Later on I had a talk with my mentor guy and it seems like the company is behind schedule and runnin low on funds so they'll need to make cuts. I was a cut =� Ah well...I guess I'll just have to find another job. We'll see what the big guy has for me. Anyway, I can get lots of sleep now hehe. Well back to 150 ish. It's Friday and this piece of shit still don't work. This totally sux ass. Had to go turn in hw too. Bah! 10.25.01 More LAB!!! Had my telebears time today. I'm waitlisted for both BA classes and my CS class. Got into Kendo tho! hehe that puts me at...officially .5 units. Whoo hoo! Well went to lab rite after lecture. Started workin on the FSM some more. Lots of free food today. EE130 was celebrating the start of their project and we invaded them to get their food...hehe EECS and CS. All food disappears so fast. We're all like a swarm that eat. I'm so tired from last nite...ug. 10.24.01 Wirewrapping...reallie sux! Ok so the gay ass wirewrapping I did the last nite didn't work...why? I have no idea. All I know is that everyone seems to be rewiring. I gave up and just did it. Bleh. It took forever, but it got done. It still didn't work. I was going to do it again when Will and Ray got it to work...whew thank goodness. Hehe Advent gave out free Zachary's pizza tonite. Only got 1 slice, but it was worth it! mmm mmm. Now onto FSM...boo! I went home at 4 am and had to do the JITMT stuff if I wanted to go to Japan. I was up till 7 am doin that ish. Hope you weren't stuck in 150 lab like us! 10.23.01 Wirewrapping Sux and Slut Almost Loses Car Again After class today I went with Mark to the Engineerin Co-Op Office. He's applying for JITMT program. Japanese internship. Pretty tite. I was gonna do it but the deadline passed. I found out that they extended it so I'm going to be trying to apply. Japan!!! Whee! When Mark went to turn in his app I saw that it said Reading, Writing, Speaking. Fair, fair, good. I was like. Mark you speak Japanese? He's like...Not yet. I can only smack my head at that remark. hehe. So now he asks if I want a ride home I'm like ok. We walk a bit and he says it's a lil far. So I'm like no problem. After a bit more he goes, "Actually it's fucking far. You coulda walked home by now." *Smack* He tells me 1/2 way there. Hehe. Went to lab later at nite and taking a hint from my lab TA Randy I wire my board all nice like. It was close to the board and everthing...takes forever. Bleh! Hehe spent most of today in lab doin 150. Naree actually went to Etchevery to work on stuff too =� I drove my car up thank goodness. We ate dinner together at La Burrita. Good stuff. Live off that stuff when I'm stuck on Northside. After a while Wung decides we need to get beer =� I drive to his place and we get a couple beers. Hehe dunno if it helps or not but sure as heck seems like it does sometimes. Up late again. Stats and details in CS stats. 10.22.01 EE120 Midterm Cont. So anyways, I get my EE 120 midterm back today. Lo and behold I suxed ass. I will rant and rave on the EE120 section of my site...but it suxed ass! I got free lunch at my advisor meeting. It's always great. I love those things. I have to go but they provide free food and drink...tiite. I'm actually still not sure what to take. I know some classes to take, but the teachers in some of them are just bad this year....come on. 2 semesters in a row? I want a good teacher dammit! oh well. Went to lab today for 150 and started workin on some of the fsm's for the next check point. Small group was pretty tite today. Didn't do much because we're leadin large group next week or something. It was fun tho. There was much bagging on Wung about Sogo Chick =) Very hot girl. Nicely done Wung, nicely done =D 10.21.01 Dim Sum How appropriate. Rite after watching Theatre Rice we go for Dim Sum. Sunaree's mom treated us to Dim Sum in Oakland Chinatown. Hehe when we were there I realized that I'd been there before. I went there Freshman year for an awards banquet with Patty. Hehe random. I also ran into Grace there too. She was with her friends b/c it was one of their Birthdays. Very kewl. 10.20.01 Theater Rice If you go to Cal and you don't see Theater Rice you're missing out. I saw this group last year with my friend Robby. Funnie ass shit. They're funny, but they're skits also usually have some point they're making. They're skits have deeper meaning if you dig around a lil bit, but it's delivered in such a funnie way it's entertaining. They're next big show is End of November. Check it out! 10.20.01 Lots of BBQ and Driving I spent pretty much the entire day driving around Naree or helping her set up for her RCSA bbq today. Hehe she even tricked her mom into coming down to Berkeley and donating a LOT of food...Good shit too. Portabello's and Pate, and stuff. It was kewl b/c I got food and ish...of course I sacraficed a lil bit in Theater Rice seating...but at least I didn't miss any of it. Food was kewl and lots of people came and seemed to enjoy it so that's good. Ug...I smell much like BBQ tho. 10.19.01 Happy B-Day Nina @ Hard Rock Cafe Ok so after gettin CS150 done Naree and I went to Hard Rock Cafe in Sacramento to eat and then club afterwards. Warning is that food there isn't that great! It's ok...but not reallie as good as other places for that price. Clubbin was kewl tho. Lots of people our age catagory and...surprise lots of Asians...=D It closed at 1:30 am tho. Kinda early. We went to Stacy's afterwards and chilled and played Rival Schools =) Fun stuff. 10.19.01 Fuck Yea! CS150 is my bitch! Well...I went home at 10 pm last nite and crashed until 2:30 am at which point I was gonna go back to lab...but my partner told me to stay and sleep more. Thanx Will. He stayed till 7:30 am today but fixed the problem...it was b/c Xilinx fucked up! Will got it and 1 extra credit too. Smart move when I looked at the plan he did. So today I went into lab and worked for a couple hours with Will trying to get the 2nd extra credit. I eventually got it! =D Of course Xilinx was a bitch. I had to make it out by 6 to go to Nina's B-Day party, but b/c of Xilinx we were late. But it's all good b/c we got it down hahaha. 10.18.01 EE120 Midterm, CS 150 Project, All-Nigher...Ah this is EECS Well, I was double teamed by my tech classes yesterday, the 17th. I write it on the 18th because...well I'm still workin on the 17th. I didn't get to go to sleep. After the midterm I went to class and then went to CS 150 lab. I was there till this morning at which point I got to go to class =D. Ah yes. There are some new quotes that came out of last nite. Hehe my friend Eric from UCLA also seemed to have pulled quite an all nighter due to EE and CS last nite. This isn't confirmed for sure yet. It's fucking great when I get to see my friends go to bed and then wake up =) 10.16.01 EE120 Stuyding Had to take a break from 150 today so I could prepare for my raping in EE120. His shit is crazy tricky. I dunno how he comes up with some of that shit...hopefully it'll be ok. We'll see. 10.15.01 CS 150...So confusing Ok I left work early and skipped Econ dis to work on this mofo. Wung, Ray, Nelson, and I went hardcore today...and we still didn't finish...I still have to study for my freakin 120 midterm...gah. Check stats for more. 10.14.01 Dinner with Jane I had dinner in the city with a friend that I haven't seen in a whiles now. We went to this one noodle place she knew. It was reallie good stuff. Hehe actually I think the owner of the place comes from the same city in Korea that my dad came from. They were both from Korea, but Chinese and the name of the restaurant was San Doung. That's my peoples =D Afterwards we got some boba at a nearby shop and headed home. Then I went to lab to work on 150. Bleh...it begins. 10.13.01 Recovery Well I wasn't hit that hard last nite, but then again I left early. Meaning I left at 2 or 3 am. Hehe I heard many people were plastered and I think today will be...less than productive =) Had dinner with Mike Ho at Joshuya's. It was kewl. We chatted a bit and I don't see those guys anymore. All busy busy hehe. It was kewl...and I got the anime Bastard while I was at it =) 10.12.01 Party at Ray's Ah what an eventful party! There were many crazy things that happened tonite. Let's take a look at them. Oh and slut wasn't there. You missed out SLUT! 1) We were drinking with our lab TA for 150. Randy was there with his friend Linda. 2) Dennis and Ray were playing the freakin guess what card I just pulled game...and Dennis comes our victorious for the 4th time in a row 3) Anna came 4) Anna drank 5) Anna liked the drink. Nice mixin Wung =D 6) Linda had a shot of 151 straight up! Mad Props to you. 7) Wung got drunk...Don't try to contest it Wung, you know it =) 8) White Mark got drunk...and is part of AAA...kewl 10.12.01 Hapa Bonfire First off. There was a funnie quote from my trip to Sac that I forgot to put up. It's up now. Check it out. So after getting my 150 Xilinx board, lifting with the boyz, and ballin had a Hapa bonfire to go to. All the freakin way in SF. I hate traffic. It was ok though. We met up at a Safeway near the beach. There was this long ass strech drivin from 1st Ave to 50 some Ave that we thought we had gone the wrong way. But no, it was rite. Lots of people got lost to the place hehe. Bonfire was kewl. There was a big sign on the beach that said no fires or alcoholic beverages. There were about 8 other bonfires at the beach and I'm sure they had drinks. Hehe. 10.11.01 Haas App Time Ouch. My chest feels so painful. Only did shoulders with Will today. Gah. After workout there was EE120 hw to be done. Luckily this hw was actually pretty nice. Check stats for actual numbers. Went to Patty's place afterwards to help her finish up Haas App =) Finished at 4 am hehe. Good luck Patty ^_^ 10.10.01 Jon Mar is a BEAST! So today I went liftin at nite with Wung, Jon, and Brian. We just decided to do Jon's usual chest workout. OMG. That man is a beast! He does crazy amounts of weights and keeps goin. One after another. I think imma feel this tomorra... 10.9.01 Palm Pilots and quizzes It was another boring day in lecture for EE120. My friend Jason has a one of those Handvisor PDA's so he wants to send a game to my palm. I'm like ok. He sends it to me wireless. Game is tite hehe kept me awake through class. My EE120 prof also talked about the midterm. He said, "The quiz will be next week..." The FUCKING QUIZ!!! He called it a quiz. I mean is that just him messin with our heads or what? I'm scared...btw the Crucial memory for the comp came. Yay Crucial! 10.8.01 Last 150 lab! Got Econ 100b midterm back. Eh...not bad. More importantly though. Last 150 lab! Read through it. Had the right idea. Did the lab...it was a bitch. Check it out in the specs. Went to small group late b/c of that damn thing. It's ok though. Wung and I are now lab partners so it's all good. Our TA Randy is tite like that. 10.7.01 New Comp for Naree After promising to build Naree a new system I finally got access to her Platinum Visa Card...mua ha ha! Toys galore will be mine! I pretty much spent all day looking at specs and stuff. Well I got it down to a 1.4Ghz Athalon, VisionTek Xtasy w/ GeForce3 Ti200 Chip Set, 40gb IBM hdd, SB Audigy, Abit KG7 mobo, Antec MidTower case...mmm so good. Cept...she forgot to tell me her shippin addy and stuff. So I had to wait for her to get back before I could actually buy anything. After some parts get restocked mmm...new system =D 10.6.01 Back in Berk and Drinkin with the Boyz Headed back to berk around 9pm. Made it back in 1.5 hrs =D Whee! The boyz went to Will's place to chill and drink and movie. It was good ish. I was still hungry so I got some more sushi at Daruma's and went to Will's. I was afraid that I was late, but as usual asian time rules and I was way early. Ray came and brought popcorn and 2 bottles of wine. Dennis, Fu and Grace came over too. Grace was such a nerd. She went into Rich's room and started doin math 55 hw. BOO!!! Slut and Nelson came after watchin Training Day. Mark had 2 Long Island Ice Teas and was drunk off his ass the rest of the nite =� If I get pictures I'll put it on the site. Oh yea. Mark is a gay slut when he's drunk ^_^ We held him down on Rich's bed and he kept yelling, "I gotta pee! Why won't you bastards let me pee?" I think Mark disturbed his 2 girl friends =) Watched Mummy Returns on SVCD...ah so! So good quality! Dennis and Ray were playin this funnie ass game where they took a deck of cards and just tried to guess what card they would pull...they played this game for 30 mins before Dennis guessed correctly. Their guesses were loosely based on random math that they made up hehe and no they weren't drunk while they were playing. Ah good fun =D 10.6.01 Car is Clean! After waking up absurdly late I washed my car. Actually I used dishwashing liquid b/c Naree didn't have car washing stuff. Eh it worked. I mean car is clean anywayz. We were supposed to go get lunch, but we were waitin for Stacy to come with...*ahem* alcohol for me ^_~ It turns out that Stacy had way too much laundry and took forever to finish so he didn't have time to get it for me. So they decided to have dinner together. When we found out we had some lunch, which was leftover pizza, and watched Real World...for I dunno what reason. Naree's freinds, Stacy and Nina came by at 5 and we went out to get Sushi dinner =D The place was very nice and the service was good =) We ordered sushi/sashimi combo, but I was still hungry after that so we got more rolls and stuff. It took forever for them to get those rolls out to us, but it was ok. =) 10.5.01 Drivin to Unincorporated Area (Naree's Home) After 150 Lab Lec supposed to drive to Sac and beat traffic. I got back home at 3:15ish b/c this was the one week where lab lecture ended at 3 and not earlier. On the plus side Randy taught us that there are secret games on the oscilliscopes =D By the time I actually left it was about 4ish. Traffic was so-so...still annoyed me. I actually found out that Naree doesn't live in Sac She lives in an unincorporated area NEAR Sac =� When we got to her place she worked on her mom's business stuff while I did CS150. =� Starting that hw way too early ^_^ We cleaned up the leftovers at her place and rented A Knight's Tale. We ordered a pizza so that by the time the pizza came she'd be done. We got this garlic lover's pizza. Pretty good ish. The movie was ok. Dunno I guess I wasn't expecting much from it anywayz ^_^ 10.4.01 Midterms are Around Well it's that time again. Other UC's have been in school a couple weeks. The freshman are getting used to college life...while here in Berkeley it's midterm time. We get laughed at by our friends when we say, "I have a midterm." They reply..oh I just started skewl...bah. Anywayz, worked on EE120 today on account that I won't be here this weekend. Goin to Naree's place in Sac. 10.4.01 Car Estimates Woke up early and went to go get estimates for my car bumper damage. Went to 2 places and it panned out to be about 1000...hehe mostly labor costs, but you gotta make money someway. Gotta get it fixed soon... 10.3.01 Rambus Info Session Went to a Rambus info session this time. After my TA cancelled his Review for Tomorra's midterm I figured...why not. It's free pizza. Hehe, so food and yet another pen =� You'd think Intel and Rambus could give out better stuff than pens... 10.2.01 CS Scores and Buffy I check my email and see an email from my 150 Prof...it contained my grades. I checked it out and...shiet! Not even close to what I thought I got...Check out my actual score in the hell section...I watched the Buffy Premeire...had to know how they were gonna get her back from the dead. I used to watch the show but after gettin to Berk I barely watch TV anymore. Other than that I found a GREAT quote from my roomies BA10 Reader =D Check it out! 10.1.01 Lab and Small Group I would like to start out by saying...this weeks 150 lab was NOTHING like the other ones. Much harder. I almost didn't finish on time. Anywayz, Small Group ^_^ It was kewl. A mixed small group with Dan's group. We also got 3 new members today. B/c of lab I missed dinner with the group, but I made it just in time for the study =D Yea! Afterwards we were arguing about the finer points of of EECS vs Haas...hehe you kno which side I was rootin for ~_^ |
