News Archive November 2002 11.30.02 TJ...NOT! Today I was supposed to go to TJ with some friends. However, due to negligence on the part of a certain Wungist who couldn't go after all, we decided not to go =) So I spent the afternoon at home and went to eat at my Grandma's place for lunch. After chilling with my cousins for a bit I took my sis home. Jean dropped by and we talked for a while =) Then Mike and Solomon dropped in too. Solomon just had his wisdom teeth pulled so that sucked. We all chatted a bit then Jean went home. We went to eat Pho =D It was Solomon's first time so he was pretty happy with it. We decided we should get another movie and wanted Ice Age. We tried Hollywood Video but they were out so I got a free rain check. Actually we went to Blockbuster and picked up the last copy there. HAHA. I think I might have snatched it right before it was about to be taken =) We went to get Cold Stone's afterwards mmm...Julie dropped by partway into the movie and watched with us =) After the movie Mike and Solomon went to a friends place and we went back for Hotpot at my Grandma's =) She's so good to us when we're back on break. We came home after dinner and Jean dropped by again to talk some =) Very satisfying day =) 11.29.02 Day After...Gambling! So Mike and I went to hang out this afternoon. He did his usual bit and refused to let me pay for the lunch we had at Island's. We went to go see Die Another Day but it was too late so we ended up seeing Solaris. It was a pretty weird movie. So funky. After it ended it leaves you with like a sorta empty wth feeling. Lots of George Clooney's ass if you fancy that tho...Then off to Grandma's house cause she made some more stuff. After eating we went to Mike's house for their usual after Thanksgiving party. I saw a lot of old friends from Church and stuff =) Good to see everyone again. Robert, the only asian in the PAC 10, was once again getting bigger. I can hardly imagine when we were kids playing around Church that I was bigger than him at some point. Finally I headed off to my Grandma's so that my dad, aunt, and uncle could go gambling at Pechanga =D The 5 dollar Blackjack tables were all full so I just ended up playing some slots. Hehe I was actually up 15 at one point...there was 1 slot machine that my dad tried to play. But it wouldn't take our money so we left. A person after us put in 2 bux and won 400...GAH!!! That was frustrating. So all in all I spent 30 bux on those confusing slot machine games. Hehe those games are so complicated nowadays. 9 lines and all these crazy combos. But it was fun =) 11.28.02 Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! As my friend Kai put it...now is the time to give thanks to everyone who has touched our lives by sharing theirs with us. Thanx everyone =) This morning we fogged the house with that fog kill insects stuff. My uncle from Montana came down today too. I haven't seen him in year now...seems like not so long ago...yet it actually is a while. Lots of eatin at my Grandma's again hehe. After a somewhat lazy afternoon of seeing my Aunt's new place my dad and I went home to air the house out. It was about this point that I realized that the checks I deposited a couple days ago had a mistake...I think they were 1000 short in the deposit amount...but I think it'll be ok cause they check those things rite? After that, Joe and I headed back to Boomer's for their 10 dollar Tues/Thurs play arcade games free thing. No one was at the Initial D game so we played for a good 2 hrs hehe. I'm sure we made our 10 bux back. It was reallie fun. I still suck at drifting but I just need more practice hehe. Back to Grandma's for dinner then Mike came over to chill at my place afterwards. We ended up renting MIB 2 which was aiite. 11.27.02 Home!!! Went to Chinese and then off to have lunch with Joyce before I head home. Left about 2 hours early. There was a decent line but I got there with plenty of time to spare =) Flight home was pretty regular. Dad picked me up and we went to eat dumplings at my Grandma's =) Always good eating when I go home hehe. After that Joe took me to Palace Park now Boomer's. I got an Initial D arcade game card and spent like 10 bux on the game. It's so easy to waste money on that thing...haha. Yea it was fun tho. I got an AE86 just like Takumi's =D Talked to Mike but we didn't end up doin anything. 11.26.02 Lax... So I wasted my day. I didn't turn in my BA hw cause I didn't kno how to do it...or actually didn't spend the time learning how to do it...sigh. I hope it doesn't bite me in the ass later. I played some war and watched some anime. I still have to pack for tomorra and do Chinese and Stat...man. It's time for this semester to end. Sigh...dunno why but I'm just feeling blah. I wanna sigh and roll over in my bed. I wonder what the problem is. 11.25.02 Choices... So...the day was pretty blah...I can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving. I think I'm done for this semester. I went to E190, met with my BA partner, went home, slept, then went to Wung's for some Chinese Skit writing. Haha Wung made us dinner which was good =) He also didn't do jack shit for the skit haha. But it's all good. I don't think the skit is a big deal. Cold Stone's opened at Shattuck today...Meant to take Patty there, but didn't get a chance cause they closed at 10 and I thought they closed at 11. Whoops...it's ok. I had another choice to make today. So I have a chance to apply for a job. Only thing is the job starts in January. So...I think I'm going to try for it...but the question is. If I get it...should I graduate early? I dunno...it's tough. I'd hate to leave all my friends here without a proper goodbye semester...Kanashi so...da ne? 11.23.02 Go Fuckin Bears! and Sunaree's Party So the day of the big game rolls around and guess what...we're decent this year. That's right Stanfurd. We can take you hahaha. After 3 years of losing we can finally say we won one. I got good pics at my photo site you can check out. I also got a video of one of the goal posts coming down. IM me if you want that avi. It's pretty good shit. I had to wake up early to take Sunaree shopping for her alcohol cause she's having her party tonite. Man. I realize that you can only attend 1 party a weekend. Sometimes sacrafices have to be made for friends =� So the game was tite. 30-7 w00t! We pretty much fucked Stanfurd up =) Good feeling after four years of losing. I got some nice pics of the field and the students tearing down the goalposts. I heard they took the torn down goalposts and marched down Bancroft while bending No Parking signs haha. I wish I were there for that. They then deposited the goalpost in front of Sproul. When students become feral they become a force of nature. So I had the choice of goin to Naree's 20th bday party or goin to Jillian's with CK. I already said I'd go the Naree's thing so I went there. It was ok. Mostly random ppl, but I chatted some and saw some old faces =) She had the gall to say I didn't have her drink shots...so of course I had a couple shots with her. She was pretty faded afterwards haha, I wonder if that was good or bad =) Well since there were only like 10 ppl left they're the only ones who know. Kai, Steve, and Sam also showed up at the party. Mostly just chilled and talked. It was kewl. Natalia actualy drank some shit =D Good job!!! Just gotta watch out hehe. Party died off sharply at 1 am. Jack was there upholding the good EECS name =D Mike was able to continue in his frat legacy. Nick kept takin Bailey shots representing CS, but at least we got him to take shots =) At 12:30ish Kai and the rest of the floor group left...I had the chance to chill at Jillian's and seeing how 30 minutes later the party died maybe I shoulda gone. Tough choices . Just chilled a lil more before heading home. Good game today. Just a bad day for choosing a party cause of all the competition =� 11.21.02 My Sleeping Patterns... Are all messed up! These past couple weeks have been kinda bad. With the Chinese essay and stupid 184 proj I haven't had a decent night of sleep in a while. If I can make it through this week then it'll be better...Then just the midterm paper and some final projs before finals time and the long awaited WINTER BREAK!!! Big Game this Saturday too...good ish good ish =D 11.19.02 Happy Bday Naree! Well guess who's finally 20! Not a teenager anymore eh =) Sorry you have a midterm tomorra. Enjoying ur party this weekend is the only way to make up for it! Happy Bday! 11.16.02 Kai's Bday Party! I had to wake up ass early for my BA group thing. Gah...spent too much time werkin on that ish. Bleh...Yea so tonite is the nite of Kai's Bday Party. Once again you boyz throw a great one =) Even a Keg of Pyramid Heffenweizer. Very good stuff. Because of the keg I'd consider you a frat party...but because of the quality you're no ordinary frat. Haha coincidentally their neighbors were also having parties. I got to meet one of them and her friends =) Very nice and cute sophmores. Back to the party Kai kept running around all nite. Wouldn't stay still long enough for me to get him decently piss drunk. Haha well it'll happen one day or another. Also met a lot of Kai's car friends. Very kewl bunch for the most part =) And I got to see Michelle and De and Olivia =) The hot trio. Unfortunatly Bahn and Oliv had some conflicts...a nasty business. Bahn said something that he shouldn't have so that sux. Not too many pics from this party...sorrie guys. You can see the ones I have on the photos page. At the end of the nite there were 3 or 4 attempts at doin some keg stands. Haha impressive...a lot of beer. =) 11.15.02 Harry Potter And Cheesecake w/ Joyce! So today...yea nothing cept I got to play ball and see Harry Potter with Jack, Will, Pilan, and another girl I forgot the name of. Sorrie ^_^ Jack went to go get tix early. Thanks dood. Actually he went at 3:30 pm to get tix for the 10:10 pm show. Guess what...10:10 sold out. So we got the 10:30 showing. We got there not too early but totally beat the crowd. Nice seats haha =D Harry Potter was pretty tite. It's about 3 hrs. But it didn't feel that long. If you've read the book they left stuff out tho. I won't mention the stuff cause I don't wanna spoil stuff. But the visual effects were once again top notch and it followed the book fairly closely. Man those kids grow. They all look so much more than 1 year older. Yea yea so good movie =) Joyce went to go see the movie in the city with..SWEISC...the women engineering thing. They went to cheesecake factory to eat too. When I got back from wathing it myself she invited me over for some Tiramisu Cheesecake..mmm =D Thanks Joyce! 11.13.02 Good News Bad News Normally I like Bad News Good News...but this only makes sense chronologically. So. Today I didn't do too well on Chinese ish. I had to take a Stat2 quiz. And had to meet with my BA group meaning I had to go to lecture. Not good stuff. I did however skip e190 and had lunch at Nan and Curry which was pretty good for the price. I went with Wung, Denis, and Patty. Wung died when he tried to eat there. We will never take him there again nor will he go willingly again. Haha so I went to the No Doubt Concert tonite with Sunaree cause I got the tickets for her birthday. I drove down to Arco Arena and actually made good time. We ate at In n Out...mmm =) I got tickets for the floor so we were like close to the stage. The concert was reallie good. There were lots of high school kids around too, so we felt a little young...but then again there were plenty of adults too haha. Garbage and The Distillers also played. They Distillers were first and were ok. They started off the night by messing up my ears with that ringing. Garbage was up next and was pretty good. The crowd started goin wild and shit. Everyone's pushing and shoving and I got up close and personal with more people that I can remember. Of course No Doubt was the shit. Gwen in person has a great voice and the show was just great. I got almost close enough to touch her hand. I wish I had taken my camera. They said no cameras but there were plenty of people with them. Gah! At one point this girl was almost fainting cause it was so crowded. We had to give her room and push her up to cooler air up top. It was kinda alarming for a little bit. But she ended up ok. No Doubt played so many songs it was great! By the time I left my shirt was completely soaked. I had to just take it off and wear just my sweater. We dropped by Sunaree's place so she could visit her parents. I got free veges too haha. Ok so here's the shitty part. On the way back to Berk I got a speeding ticket. So fuck I prollie gotta do traffic skewl over Winter Break. The officer was a nice guy tho. So at least he wasn't a fucker. But still just sux. 11.13.02 Happy Birthday Kaiser Pan! Happy 21st Birthday you bastard you. I plan to get you way plastered this weekend. May you not remember anything =) Today is the day of my Boba Buddy Kaiser Pan's 21st Bday. CHEERS!!! 11.11.02 Gah...Skewl Tomorra So the thought of the impending day of skewl tomorra is coming back to me. And I should do some hw...but I prollie won't. Cause it's not due till later. I went ballin again with Jenny and some APhiO peepz. Patty invited me for dinner at her place =) She made fresh dumplings and I pan fried them. Wung also came over and made steak (of course). Hehe both were excellent =D Thanks you two. Jenny's big APhiO crew was there practicin line dancing for some talent show they gotta do. Haha it was fun watching them learn from a video tape. It had this 80's look and the girl was so funnie to watch ^^ Oh yea. Sean's also been in lab the past 2 nights...like past 12. Finally, welcome to the EECS experience =D That uber smart guy has so far been able to avoid such hardships. Go Go Sean! 11.10.02 Another Day Gone I had lunch with Patty today at In n Out. She's trying to eat beef and cheese. Let's all cheer her on k? =D She also let me use the hose in her garage to clean my VERY dirty car off. A good rinse and it's so much better. Recently there has been a lot of rain. Looks like Berkeley weather is back...I've also started an EverQuest account...cause I get a free 30 days. Hehe I'm gonna quit. I promise. I like online games...aka Ragnarok Online...but I hate paying even more haha. You guys can start a pool but tell me so that I can put myself in the quit pile. And if you bet against me...bet a lot k =) So Patty feels like drinkin tonite...We end up at Wung's cause we can't decide where to go drink on a Sunday...even though tomorra is off. Not too much drinkin...more chillin. Jeremy, Karen, and Joyce also come chill. Jeremy, Joyce and I play some Soul Caliber! Oh yea. You know Yoshimitsu's sword rub is the best! Here's to another day off ^^ 11.9.02 Friends No not the show. Spent most of the morning sleeping as it should be. Woke up at 12 and went to ball some more =) Man, I must be gettin old...me body is achin from all de ballin. So today it seems it was all about friends. Spent the afternoon helping out one friend with buying of sustenence at the local 99 Ranch/CostCo combo. Also my friend from UCLA, Jamie and her bf Joe came up for the long weekend =) I had dinner with them at Coriya hotpot at...99 Ranch =P I ate with Jamie, Kat (meow), Joe, Loren (Jamie's and Kat's big bro...who was also EECS btw), and my roomie Sean. Hehe I guess I couldn't stay away from that place today. Also ran into Troph, Kev, and Mark(judo/kendo not Slut) waiting for Daimo...haha they ended up eating at Coriya too cause Daimo had too long a line. Hehe sounds like that's about my whole day...but atually a lot happened. Here's a peek into me head...watch out for cobwebs =) Lots of introspection about what a friend is. Do I have low standards for my friends? Most certainly not...but I guess it might seem like it to some people out there. But I'd also say that there are very few people that I'd say I disliked. Maybe it seems like I have low standards b/c of the wide variety of people who are my friends. Some of them probably can't see eye to eye, but that's ok. Everyone has their own viewpoints. But you know what...I accept everyone's faults as much as their strengths. Some people care a lot and have that world view. That's great and definitely a strength...but don't forget to look closer and see that some people's strengths are closer to home. They'll do their best to help a friend out. The ironic thing is...unless you are their friend, you would have no idea of the lengths that they can go to =) That's what makes friends special. Myself...I think people don't choose to be my friend because I have smart things to say about the world or am super smart. I think I fall under the category of reallie caring and lookin out for my friends. So you friends out there...I got yo back =D This brings me to another point...I've never doubted a friend before. I expect the same kind of loyalty and caring in return. It might not be in the same form as the way I care about people, but in some form. So I guess you can say...I have high expectations from those that I reallie know well. That also means that these boundries aren't tested very often...but I've never had a friend fail yet. To all my friends =) Thanks for all the times we've shared, past, present, and those we will share in the future. To those who have fallen by the wayside...I didn't forget you. In the future perhaps our paths will cross again and I look forward to that day. Thanx to Jamie and Kat. Seeing you guys and a full tummy of hotpot reallie brought me up. That's the power of friends. I'm not even sure...is there even a reason to care when other people don't? Ideally yes...but in reality do you have that luxury? I open myself to it. When will I learn my lesson? Well I didn't find out about today's show till I spoke with my own insider Denise =) After a nice lunch with Wung and Patty I went to ball. After ball I went to Theatre Rice baby! Was supposed to meet Sunaree and random ppl there but decided to hang with Jimmy since he was there with only 1 other person, farther ahead, and the fact that Sunaree and Co was random. SO what did the nite degenerate to...pretty much just chillin and watching Aliens 2. Man...I haven't seen that in forever...more ball tomorra. Yes... 11.7.02 Friendz Dood Friendz So one of my close buddies from freshman year has recently started doin the whole blog thing. And I've been reading his stuff, his away msgs, and profiles. I guess over the past couple weeks I noticed a change in his tone. So we talked a bit a couple nites ago over AIM. Even though I may not know what exactly is goin I think it was enuff to let him kno that he's got friendz and we're there if he reallie needs it. So I'm just saying let your friends kno you care once in a while. You'll be surprised at how much it reallie means to them and to you. 11.6.02 CS184 Midterm Um...yea. It was ok. Some shit I got for sure. Other shit I was like...wtf, I have no idea how to do this...Also gave my ehtics talk on the Tobacco industry today in e190. Yes. Smoking is bad for you blah blah blah. 11.5.02 Study Lots So I spent pretty much most of the day sleeping...but when I finally did get up I had to study. Pretty much went to Soda at 4 with CK, Joyce and Denis showed up later. We were there till about 2. Dunno as long as there's no whack shit it's ok. I didn't sleep till 4 tho cause I had some stoopid e190 stuff to look over and had to finish my Chinese. Very tired. 11.3.02 Fuckin Ass Project So I spent today doin hw shit and the proj. This proj was so bad. Cecile actually finished it early cause she werked hardcore on it earlier. Thanks to her and Joyce we got our ish werkin...mostly. I also found out about fuckin BA hw. The TA's are so stupid. They said the Case Study was postponed, when the prof actually passed it out in class. So I had to fuckin get the case from Duane. Thank goodness he IMed me. Fuck another late nite. 11.2.02 More Late Nite 184 Yea...more 184 gheyness. Went to get Jack with Joyce as a break. Then we chilled at Wung's place and played Dreamcast hahaha. 11.1.02 Why I Don't have Game Systems So I was supposed to go to Wung's to werk with Denis on as8. I went and then we played Soul Caliber for a good 2 or 3 hrs. Then we have dinner at Wung's thx dood. Good shit good shit. Then we start coding finally at 10. This of course ends with minimal progress...bleh |
