News Archive November 2001 11.28-30.01 Ug...Lab Yea...ok so days kinda blend together rite now. I drove up to Soda and parked there for some lunch with Naree. At 4pm there were 3 tow trucks nd the parking lady waiting to give people tickets and get towed away. THere was this one guy in front of my car...I think waiting to tow it. I turned in my econ hw and headed off to lab. It was raining a lot that nite. So lab from wemt from 5pm till 8am. Then I went to a meeting with someone at 9...bleh. I finally decided to skip econ and sleep at 12. Slept for a good 4 hours. Of course I overslept and had to get my ass down to Cory. After that it was just lots of redesigning and truth tables. Anyways...it's the afternoon of the 30th now. We just got home and are going back to lab in a couple hours to hopefully get this thing checked off...I hate this shit... 11.27.01 Oh...yea...My ass hurts from the Raping... Yea so...ok. It was pretty damn bad. Most of the boyz didn't finish up the test at all...it was pretty bad is all I can say. Also back to lab tonite...there were all these weird posters on the walls...Just got back from Cory...still have Econ hw to do...bah...back to skewl as usual...oh almost forgot about this new tite article found by Wung. It's also above hehe enjoy =) 11.26.01 Yay! Car returns! Well the car finally returns after being fixed. I do have a qualm tho...I left some cash in a side pocket of the car for toll and forgot about it. Naturally the shady people at the auto repair place took it...but you know what? They took all the freakin quarters too! I mean Ok take a couple bucks but to spend the time rooting through my change for all the quarters? Supremely Ghetto...I'm not pleased about that. Anyways, I also found out that I have an econ problem set that's due this Wednesday...whoops...guess I shoulda gone to lecture Tuesday. Spent most of the nite studyin for CS 150 Midterm...I don't know what he was thinking...midterm and project due the same week. Gah! I think this one'll be tougher than the other ones. I don't understand as much from his lectures...ah well. 11.25.01 Oh the Traffic Got up at 7 to visit Grandma before leaving for Berk again. Had a nice breakfast of ham and some biscuits hehe. Ken came to get me a bit late cause he got lost hehe =). Went back to his place and he switched cars to a van. His mom tried to speak Korean to me and Ken told them I was Chinese...heh. We then went to go get Ken's other friends...their mom also tried to speak Korean to me...do I look that Korean? Maybe they just assumed since everyone else was Korean...hehe We finally left at 10:00. The trip back was oh so slow...like 5 accidents and darn rubberneckers. Then there was Kettleman City...Good In & Out...bad traffic. I think we were stuck for 30 mins trying to get outta that place. We finally got back at 6:30...freakin long ass time. Hehe then off to do EE120 with Sean...I found out that I missed a prob sheet for Econ last week that's due this week too...and then cs proj...and cs midterm...AHHHHH!!!! I reallie didn't wanna come back...oh dear. 11.24.01 Oooh...Raining...Pouring Well today was pretty cold and dismal...it rained so hard. I prolly spent 1/2 the day sleeping through it hehe. My dad only worked till 5 today so we got some food at Ebisu. Mmm...Oyako Combo or Tanin Combo are soo good. Very filling. Later that nite my dad's friend too us to eat some Korean soft tofu. Mmm...as you can see today was pretty simple...rest and eat hehe. I don't reallie wanna head back up yet...bah! 11.23.01 Juss Chillin Woke up today and had lunch with my good friend Mike and some of his other friends. We went to good 'ol O'Shine Cafe. Always pretty decent food. Afterwards I went to Westminster mall to do lil lookin at the sales...and to visit Evey at Victoria's Secret...hehe she wouldn't model for me tho =� Afterwards we just went back to Mike's and chilled. We hit a couple golf balls around his lawn and his neighbor's lawns hehe. I went to Grandma's place for some dinner. Always good stuff. Then just went home and had a good nap...days should be like this... 11.22.01 HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! Well the day of stuffing yourself has come around. Went to Grandma's place for Lunch then went to go see Harry Potter with my Aunt and Cousin. It was a pretty good movie. Makes me want to read the book. Pretty long too. About 2.5 hours. THe Irvine Spectrum was actually reallie empty today. I was expecting more people to be seeing a movie, but I guess everyone is staying at home this year. Went back to have dinner at my Grandma's place then went to go see my friend. We chilled at his place for a bit then decided to go out and see Shallow Hal. That movie was reallie funnie. Could even count as a movie to take your girl to since the aww factor is high. But LOTS of freakin hot girls. Too bad skewl is comin up again... 11.21.01 Oh Yea! Woke up at 3 haha. Good stuff. Didn't reallie do anything. Went to my Grandma's place and had some dinner. I tried to take a look at my e-mail, but the internet takes forever to load anything. I swear it took about 3 minutes before my buddy list showed up. Oh wellz... 11.20.01 HOME! Today is all about proj and gettin ready. I woke up and did laundry. Skippin my 2 classes today. Goin to the decal tho. Have to. I took a nice shower and was thinkin...what do they teach us from K-5th grade...for some reason I was humming that song...Grand Old Flag...I mean I learned that shit when I was in Kindergarden. As I think back...sure we learned basic skills in grade school...but mostly we were indoctrinated with propoganda. I guess I never reallie stopped and thought about it...just weird. Imma try to keep updating the site while I'm home for Thanksgivin, but we'll see...I got an IM from Kenneth. Looks like we're leavin before 12. I grabbed some dinner with Naree before leaving for SoCal. Kenneth finally came and picked me up at 10, but we didn't really leave till 11. We drove through some pretty crazy ass fog. LIke 10 feet visibility. Pretty tite. I finally got home at 6 am. Must sleep now...mmm 11.19.01 Happy BDAY NAREE!!! Boo EE120!!! Today was Naree's actual birthday. She finally turns 19! Whee! Anyways. The start of the day not so good. I got my EE120 midterm back...27/100. Mean of 51...FUCK! I can't tell u how dissappointed I am. Econ 100b midterm back too...98/100 WTF. Maybe I'm in the wrong major...enuff about the sad stuff...the fun stuff hehe. We went to dinner at an Italian place on University, Venezia. Very good food and pretty pricy. I had to ask Slut to drive us since my car is still in the shop. Thanks Slut. I reallie owe you one. They brought us some bread and olive oil. Pretty good and kinda filling. First we had their Fried Calamari...ooh so good. Then I had salad and Naree got this soup. I think the soup is better. The salad was ok, but if any of you go I'd go with the soup. For the main dishes I ordered something Wung told me to get. Linguine with Prawns and garlic sauce. Naree got this grilled swordfish stuffed with fresh mozerella(sp?) ah who cares...string cheese =D Her dish also had this puree peas and sweet potatoes in this cream sauce thing. They were both made well. And then dessert..mmm Tiramisu. Their Tiramisu is so damn good. It's reallie light and has this rich dark flavor. The coffee blends reallie well with the rum. It wasn't too alcoholly. Naree had the Chocolate Pate. It came looking like a brick of chocolate mousse, but it was also surprisingly light. It was a bit too sweet for my tastes, but Naree reallie loves chocolate. After dinner we headed off to Will's place to go to lab...hehe Wung was in the middle of a big Starcraft game. We stopped by Burger King b/c Naree wanted a Crown thing. I felt bad about just asking them for one straight out so I bought a 99 cent burger and gave it to Slut hehe. Slut was waiting at Wung's but it turns out that since Wung was playin SC, we went later. Slut went to lab b/c his partner was waiting for him. Ended up goin to lab and workin on proj till pretty late. Randy showed up and all the guys ended up chatting with him for a bit. He's a kewl TA. Pretty much is one of the guys heh. Slut's board got a bit messed up and he threw another Mark Explosion. I called this one. I was like...shit Fu...I think Mark's gonna kick something again. About 3 mins later he kicked the trash can about 4 or 5 times...there's a dent now. This class gives all of us freakin stress...we need like a CS150 Stress Management decal to go along with it. Fu doesn't get to eat...I don't get to sleep...Wung doesn't get to SC...Ray forgets to do fuckin CS170 proj...Mark...doesn't get to...not break things =� This class sux ass. I'm still tired from stayin up till 6am last nite...ug. Still gotta do laundry too. 11.18.01 SO tired Well...what was today? Woke up. Went to lab. Went to CostCo cause Ray got a flat tire on his way to lab. Bought some necessities. I had some steak at Will's. Good stuff as always Wung. Thanx! Went to lab again. Tried to work...very had shit. So confused. Kinda made progess. Randy showed up later and we all started talking. Hah he's not conducive to work at all. We just chat when he shows up. He knows it too so he left to do his 152 ish hehe. I made reservations for Venezia for Naree's Bday tomorra. Hope it's as good as they say hehe. Lab was pretty much...non motivational. I did have a reallie interesting conversation about faith with Ben. He's a reallie good guy to talk to...no wonder I always saw him talking to someone last year hehe. Ray found out that his CS170 proj was due this Tuesday...not after Thanksgivin...shit. That sux ass...this is the power of CS150...it's all consuming...Good luck Ray. Ah wellz...so tired. Eyes been hurtin all day. I think too much computer screens lately. Must cut down. 11.17.01 BIG GAME...WE SUCK Well we did alright today. The end score was 28-35 so we only lost by a TD. But still. This makes us 0-10 and that's pathetic. Went to the RSF to go ballin afterwards. For tonite I have two options...movie or stripper/meat market party. I'm very intrigued by the stripper party. First beacuase they said it'll be the fattest strippers...I don't wanna see FAT STRIPPERS! THe second is it's 5 bucks is you wear a color and 6 if you don't. The colors are: Red-I'm taken, Yellow-I'm looking, Green-I'm Single. So...kinda kewl =D Hehe but I ended up just chillin at home and playin some cstrike. Haven't done that in a while. I'm amazed at how rampant cheating in that game as become...sigh. I remember to good old days of knifing. =D 11.16.01 Football, Naree's Bday Party, Nice Friday I went to go get my haircut today at the pleading of Naree cause it's growing into a fro. Went down to Studio 19 to get it done. It was done ok. But I still think that one of those Asian peepz at Ranch 99 would have done a better job. Oh well. I also cleaned up the bathroom a bit and ended up missing my lab lecture. As I was walking to lab to work on CP 4 with Will he gave me a call on his cell. Seems like all the comps at Cory were taken so he wanted to play football with the AACF peepz. After I turned in my homework at Cory I walked down to Clark Kerr to play football. At first I couldn't find them. I walked way up into the track then walked down and to the right where they were. It was fun. Lots of people. We played till about 5ish when it started to rain. That's when we decided to head home. Nina and them came down to go to Naree's birthday. After I showered and changed clothes (because mine were a lil bit muddy now) we went to eat at Koryo's. A pretty nice Korean restaurant in Oakland. The service was a bit lacking tho. It took forever for them to take our order and give us our check. Hehe I think it's because there weren't enuff Koreans or just Asians at the table in general. But the food was good anyways. We then headed off to Kyle's home for the party. Thanks to Kyle and his roommates who graciously let us use their place! Wung was already there when I showed up. After a while more AACF and other white people I didn't know started showing up and the party was going. Hehe Will was quite shocked at all the white people at the party. I warned him that Brita and Naree reallie only knew white people so if they were Asians there it was probably someone Naree met through me. Steve, Kai, and Mike showed up too. Sid was supposed to come but never did show up. Haha the alcohol dissappeared pretty quickly but Kai managed to get enuff in him to make him pretty damn buzzed. It was funnie as hell. He has got a quote that I reallie liked. All in all the party was pretty fun. There was an ok mingle factor and generally it was kewl. The shadier side of Berkekey showed itself later making me look for Slut...who I never found. Instead I asked Ray to help out. Thanks Ray. I owe you one. 11.15.01 Lots of Random things today Haha so today was really random. First off I woke up planning to go to my CS150 Discussion. I was on my way when I bumped into Mike and Sid...yea...well class didn't happen then. We just chilled and had lunch. Then...a la Mike something random happened. We all got food at Thai Basil which was good...cept Mike found a fly in his soup. We told him to complain and when he did the lady feigned not knowing English. Then she got the cook to come over and say that the fly was edible...uh...ok. After that was the usual class then CS150. Nothing in there happened except afterwards I was talkin to Chi. He said that this one fob was picking his ear with his pencil...ok. But then he started eating it...I mean what the hell? Ah then watched Zoolander...didn't like it. It's stupid. Sorry but it is! Then lab from 7 till 4. Naree brought me fancy food from the Regents thing. Yay Naree! 11.14.01 EE120 Rapage Someone needs to call the cops and report a raping...namely me being raped by EE120. It was reallie bad. I walked out feeling very heavy. I left a lot blank. I don't think I've ever done so poorly before. My guess after looking at the solutions is around 20% I dunno...It just sucks. I kno my stuff...why can't I do the problems? I can even kinda do the hw. I mean I don't expect to get a high score...Just above the mean...even at the mean. The only time I've ever done so bad is when I failed my first math 53 midterm Freshman year...but even then I got 90 something on the second one...I just want to beat on something, yet I don't feel like I have the energy. Sigh...this sux THere's more ranting left in me...but I won't bore you guys anymore. You can read more raving if you want. 11.13.01 Econ Midterm I woke up early today to drop off my car to get it fixed. Was supposed to call a friend to pick me up but they gave me a ride back. I should have emptied my car before driving there. I hope I'm not missing anything when I get it back. At least I took out the more expensive stuff like my glasses and Rio...bah. Well I was rite. It was just econ. Pretty cake. Hehe Next on my list...EE120 midterm. I didn't do much tho. Just studied a bit. I mean most of the stuff seems pretty ok. I beat Chrono Trigger on the laptop...then realized that I needed a save game to use the New Game + feature...doh! What a pain. I watched Iron Monkey. It's like a Chinese Robin Hood. It was dubbed tho...kinda painful to listen to. It was a pretty decent movie tho. Good effects and stuff. Done old skewl style with the running on roofs and stuff. =D 11.12.01 Yay for day off! Well no skewl today since it's Veteran's Day. Went to small group and had some pretty good steak. Hehe I went to CostCo with Will to get those steaks for a bbq this weekend...but the weather here is well...the weather here. So no bbq. It was still good broiled. Thanx Will. I tried to study for my econ midterm but didn't reallie get much done. I just don't feel motivated rite now...sigh. Besides it's just econ. 11.11.01 TV Eats Time Oy! Had to get up at 9 am to take Naree to the Stadium Cleanup for TKD. Still so tired. Mike Ho called up this morning and wanted to go check out the Anti War Coalition thing. We ran into Naree and Sean as we were leaving. Naree, Mike, and I went to check it out...didn't find Sid so we went to eat lunch at Cafe Milano. We were just chatting and stuff. Started watchin TV at my place afterwards. Saw Conspiricy Theory. Pretty good. Funnie too. I took Mike home and went to get our jackets from Kyle. Hehe we left them in his car since Ray gave us the ride home last nite. Naree made spaghetti for dinner and also made oatmeal cookies. We went to Steve, Mike, Kai, Ben, and Sid's place afterwards so I could copy Kai's econ notes...seeing how i skipped class that day. hehe. =� I saw Steve play Devil May Cry and gave it a shot myself. It's pretty nice. Fun as heck too. I mean who doesn't have fun killing demons =) Came back with some of Mike's movies and watched Shaolin Soccer. Hahaha it wasn't bad. Pretty ok =) 11.10.01 EE120, Sushi, Hard Rock!!! Patty's boyfriend Jason is up for the weekend. So we went to that Tako Sushi down in Telegraph. I've never been there before but it's supposedly cheap and ok. So we went in and it's actually a lot nicer than it looks. It's got a small front but it's pretty big inside. The food was ok. Nothing special but pretty decent for the price. At nite, we went to Hard Rock in the city for Julie and Michelle's bday! Kyle drove Alice, Calvin, Naree and me. Thanx dood! It was pretty kewl. Lots of peepz. Half the EECS crew showed up and chilled too. We actually bumped into our TA Randy. Haha he knew Caroline, the 3rd girl havin the bday. Wung got someone else's ID so he got a wristband to get drink. Randy got a band for me too. It was tiite haha =) All the 150 boyz together for some 150 shots with Randy =D Belvedere Vodka. Good ish. Expensive too hehe. We had 3 of those throughout the nite. Also tried something called Tokyo Tea. It's ok. I dunno if it's that good. Naree had some drink too. I think the long lapse and lack of dinner messed with my tolerance tho. 1 Tokyo Tea, 1 Long Island and 3 shots and I was pretty faded. Slut and Nelson showed up with my old TA Jon Tse near the end. Haha they were pretty gone too. We ended up goin to the Mel's a couple streets down for some after party food. Oh it was good. =) Haha such a fun nite. 11.9.01 Check Point 3 Check off! So Wung and I finally got check point 3 done after a little help from Calvin. I wake up and Will's in lab gettin it checked off. He then IM's me saying. It doesn't work anymore! I'm like WTH!?!?! Then he takes the OPADS out and puts them back in...everything is ok again...wtf is that? Xilinx is a dirty whore. That and the webcast wasn't up so I didn't get to watch my lab lec...oh well. We went to Ray's at nite to chill. Wung brought the infamous box o liquor, hehe. We were just chillin at Ray's playin a lil M vs C. Pretty kewl nite. Also got a new quote hehe it's a good one. =D 11.6.01 Presentations and 150 again! This morning I got up early to run some errands. Due to check point 2 I forgot to turn in my letter of rec for my summer internship to Japan. Hehe luckily I think it's ok. I also got my financial aid stuff kinda squared away. Class was boring. Except that Dennis found an article in the Daily Cal about giving head...interesting hehe. The presentations went ok. Hehe no problems reallie. Then off to lab! This checkpoint seems pretty easy. Hopefully tomorra we'll finish. 11.5.01 Small Group! I was kinda late to small group today. Had to fix my freakin wirewrap for check point 3 hehe. Got it tho...so it's all good. Today's small group was pretty chill. Alice made brownies! YAY!!! I found out that I actually have pretty regular readers of my website =D Hehe yay for you guys! You kno who you are ^_^ After Small Group I chilled at Will's for a bit then headed home. I have a SAGE Presentation tomorra and I haven't started yet. I talked a lot to my buddy Mike from down south today. Hehe we had a good chat about girls and stuff. It was good stuff =) Ended up goin to bed at 4 am hehe. My presentation sux =� 11.4.01 Just HW It's been a while since I've ranted about anything other than CS150. Well today I go back to the world of EE120. It was pretty ok for the most part. The first problem was a bitch tho. So many spikes...so many places for mistakes! AHHH!!! There was this one matlab part...I have no idea how to do it. Hehe Sean and I just kinda...said...oh well hehe. It's all good. =D 11.3.01 Part 2 of Celebration! Well since we decided this week shall be a week of doing no work! We went out for sushi. Hehe no more beef after last nite =) We were supposed to see The One but never made it. Instead we ended up at Ray's place playing video games. There was this one game Poy Poy. The most absurd game ever. You're just kids and you throw things at each other! Haha that's it and it's so fun! Ahh...another day wasted...hehe 11.2.01 Official Check Point 2 Celebration It's Friday and it's been decided that the boyz will have an official Check Point 2 Celebration. Ray, Dennis, Fu, Will, Jack, Nelson, Anna, Sunaree, and I all went. We drove to the Cheesecake factory in SF to eat dinner then headed to the AMC to watch Mosters Inc. I was one of the drivers. My car went to the theatre to get tickets first. I was following Nelson's directions to get to Cheesecake Factory. This led us to much lost-ness. We turned on Market and were goin the wrong way. I didn't turn around till we went past Castro. It ended up that it was just a couple blocks away if we had turned left instead of right. haha. Oh well. After we got to Cheesecake Factory there was still about a 30 min wait even tho the other boyz had been waiting for an hour already. We all finally got seated. Ray told us all to get Double BBQ Bacon Cheeseburgers. Hehe after much of Ray's ranting about how great this burger was we all got one...except the girls. It was great. I wish I had a picture of us. 7 Guys with huge burgers on our hands....ahh! Haha good ish. After food we went to movie. Monsters Inc. ROCKS! haha it's so damn funnie and kiddish at the same time. Definitely worth it. Hehe a good day. 11.1.01 Large Group! Whee! Well since Wung and I finished off Check Point 2 we could make it to the very special large group =) Today's large group was run by all the small groups =) It was reallie kewl. Our Small Group was supposed to lead small groups hehe. We talked about prayer and stuff. Good ish =) After large group Wung, Rich, Ben, and I went to grab some food. On the way back I was chattin with Ben about all kinds of stuff. =) |
