So the first couple weeks of skewl are pretty good =) I'm in bball and judo pe and it's reallie fun. I get plenty of time to play ball. Got the IM Bball team together. Hehe we're called "6 feet under" come watch us play...uh we dunno when our games'll be yet =) EE192 started this week. I spent 2 days trying to do something stupid...it ended up I didn't do some of the settings correctly...ghey shit. I finally got an interview through Beartrax =) Go Applied Materials. If anyone has hints on the interview TELL ME! Chinese New Year's comin up too =) I'll wait the extra day before sayin anything =) I promise I'll update more often since I have so much more time hehe.
1.21.03 Back In Skewl
So first day. Not too bad. I'm trying to guage the difficulty of my coursewerk this semester. I think ee192 will be plenty of werk. The ba 177 class actually ended up bein Business in Asia rather than special topics in public policy yay =) And the teacher seems kewl. So that worked out rather well. I'm glad I didn't drop 177 last nite. BA196 ended up bein IT Strategies which is kewl too...but it conflicts with this cs199 class...oh decisions decisions.
1.20.03 One Day More
Well one more day before skewl...today was kewl tho. Had lunch with Patty, Jason, and Wung. Afterwards went to Ironworks with Michelle and Kai. Haha that Kai's gonna be one mean lookin dude if he keeps up his werkin out =) Go Kai Go! It was actually kinda disappointing for me tho. I tried to lift a plate and couldn't get a full set in...it's ok. This semester there will be much working out and bball I hope ^^
1.13.03 Vegas Recap
So this weekend was the Vegas trip =) Went with Patty and Jason and met up with Coung and Jenny over there. The drive wasn't too bad cept one 1 hour stretch where we barely moved...this is thanks to an exploded big rig. I mean reallie the cab exploded. When we drove by the cab was totally burned black and shit. We got there and Will was on his way...but he never made it. He actually totally blew a tire and drove into a ditch. We theorized that it mite have been a jagged piece of metal from the big rig. So Wung had to stay at a hotel and AAA fixed his car, but due to pissed parents he had to go home >.< We stayed at Stratosphere which was pretty kewl. We mostly ended up walking all over the place and eating a lot =) I think I seriously expanded my stomach's capacity that weekend. Also went clubbin with the APO ppl at this one bar/club place. It was pretty fun. Julie and Bryce came up on Saturday to chill in Vegas. She spent most of her time/money buying lots of shot glasses...she got like 5 or 6 from the Vegas trip I think =P Gambling-wise it was kewl =) I played some roulette, craps, and bj. Hehe overall lost 60 bux but that's not too bad. On the last day Patty reallie wanted to get this drink from Harrah's. It's like a yard of some mixed drink...since we got it at like 10 am we got a Mai Tai =P Actually finished that sucker too, 100 ounces haha. I got pix from the trip up on my yahoo photos link above. Thanks to Patty and Jason for their xmas gift of the hotel rooms =)
1.8.03 Ancient Wisdom and One Fucked up Video
So I haven't updated in a whiles. I've been busy yet not. Went drinking at Dave and Buster's with old friends, got to go boarding again and stuff. It was kewl. Anyways I was talking to my Grandma the other day. Or more like she was talking to me. There are certain times when you just realize how lucky you are. These were one of those times. My Grandma was telling me how it was back in Korea when she grew up. She didn't get to go to skewl b/c her parent's died when she was still young so she worked. She told me about my dad and my uncles. How my uncle was a reallie good kid. He was 1 of 2 kids in Korea who passed an SAT like test to get into one of the top colleges in Taiwan. My uncle started working at restaurants when he was in middle skewl, but he never thought he was unlucky or complained about it. Actually everyone he worked for liked him. My Grandma said all his friend's parents were ok with them goin out as long as my uncle was in the group. When my dad and my uncle went to Taiwan to study college my Grandma would send them dried Skate fish in boxes to sell in Taiwan for money to use. Skate fish wasn't found in Taiwan at the time. She used to bring 10 boxes each about 20 or 30 pounds down to the post office. One foot in the cab, to keep him from driving away with the stuff, and one foot on the ground she'd take out the boxes. At that time Korea was reallie poor and stealing was common. My Grandpa worked on a navy vessal, which is how we got to the US. And he'd also make a lot of friends with the crew and the other workers. Once some of his japanese friendz brought back sports shoes and it was such a big deal cause they didn't have sneakers in Korea, you had to import it to get them. Anywayz...we're reallie lucky to have scholarships to go to college and just everything that we take for granted. My Dad also gave me an interesting Chinese saying while we had breakfast one day. "Poverty and Wealth only last for 3 generations." Meaning in the usual case if you're family's poor it will be for 3 generations and vice versa. And it makes sense...Generation werks hard to make money...kids don't understand werkin hard and only how to spend...and then off for another cycle. Also I just watched Vanessa Carlton's "Pretty Baby" MV. It was nice at first but after a while she started lookin a lil creepy and I was just thinking at the end she reminded me of that girl in the movie who kept her husband? tied up upstairs and guess what??? Well watch her MV and you'll see...gah. Disturbing.
