Qualification

BOND welcomes Belgian and Philippine partners who will adhere to the following criteria in their daily acitvities:
Our ecological footprint is too big; many of the natural resources are being consumed indiscriminately. BOND partners are to practice an ecology-friendly and environmentally safe lifestyle as part of the operations of the group.
With the alarming ecological imbalance as the backdrop, partners are encouraged to correct this by setting up a sustainable operation which will serve as model for the surrounding communities to follow.
Implementing programs that enhance and promote small-scale economies, sustainable development and permaculture principles that will ensure a decent and holistisc existence of the partners and the surrounding communities.
Transparant policies and sharing and exchange of information with the partners are core principles within the group. BOND partners will be part of a lobby group that will counter the lack of information and the growing apathy in our society.
As BOND partners come from different backgrounds, cultural ownership and identity are being promoted and respected within the network.
BOND observes these criteria for the further strenghtening of the partnership and to stress its philosophy towards development cooperation with a human face. BOND draws from new forms and experiences gathered from a long cooperation with partners during the duration of the work of Volens. The criteria considered in both countries form a web of connections. This web has been explained earlier in the Project objectives. It is the basis for the sustainable cooperation proposal and symbolizes the BOND-ing between partners and with their suroundings. BOND originates from human needs and will transform negative developments into sustainable and positive patterns.

The BOND network works with the following actors:
Support groups / persons and communities in Belgium
A core group of voluntary cooperators (members) will assist during the conception and organizing of the network. These people are chosen because of their interest in cooperation with groups in the Philippines or are already active in the region. Most of them are members of organisations that have already existing partnerships with groups in the south and would want to be part of a larger coalition of organisations and individuals, while the other individuals are those that have been within the network of contacts of support groups. These individuals are tapped on the basis of their skills, knowledge and interest in the BOND proposal. Other possible cooperators can be Belgians or persons from other nationalities who are interested in a broader cooperation and exchange between the two countries. (e.g. Filipinos wo are working or living in Belgium)
Support groups / persons and communities in the Philippines
In the Philippines, the partner secretariat will form a team of skilled and interested people (Belgians and Filipinos), preferably those already working in like minded organisations which are operational at the community level. They will join in the facilitation and execution of the operations and activities as Consultants (for evaluations and consultations), Project managers (for programs, exchanges and financial management) and group facilitators (for exposure trips, exchanges between North-South or South-South).
