- Left Handed Batter: Stands on the right side of the plate from the cather's point of view and hits swinging the bat to their right.
Outs: In softball there are four different ways you can get a player out on the team that's batting and when the team gets 3 outs you switch places with the other team.
- Tag the base - If the batter hits the ball and the fielders get the ball to the base before the batter touches the base they are out.
- Tag the player - If the batter hits the ball and the fielders get the ball and touch the batter before they touch the base they are out.
- Catch the ball - If the batter hits the ball and one of the players in the field catch the ball before it touches the ground then the batter is out.
- Strike out - If the batter swings at the ball and misses it is a strike. If the batter doesn't swing and the ball is in the right range then it is also a strike. If you get three strikes you are out.
