[H1b1] THE SAINT LOA KNIGHTS (PART ONE)


From the Guild Hall, go towards the Inn by cutting through the market square. Listen to the argument between Guillame and Melville. Head towards the Rune Master next, approaching the brown haired girl in the pink dress. You'll witness a conversation between her (Alanis) and Elliott. Follow them towards the back alley on the West side of town, and climb the ladders to the window. You'll be given three choices:

The Three Knights of Zexen.
(They'll let you in)
White Roses for War
(They'll ask if you forgot the password and make you guess again)
.....
(They'll accuse you of forgetting the password and make you guess again)

Once inside, you get a brief scene of chaos, then an interruption by Melville. Once he's there, you'll be filled in on some information about his father, and get the opportunity to ask questions:

Are you referring to me?
(They explain that you're the only one present)
Who are the Saint Loa Knights?
(Get an introduction to the kids)
I'm not doing anything else.
(Agree to go with the kids)

If you choose either option 1 or 2, you will be given the remaining two options. If you again choose a different option from the last one, you will be given the last one alone. (Thus, you need the last to continue, but only need the first two if you want information.)

Once you have agreed to go with the kids, head out towards the exit of the city where they'll join your group (Elliott will not be support, merely a guest). The places open to you are: Vinay del Zexey and North Cavern. If you try to go to Zexen Forest, the kids will stop you. You will not have access to any place else until you finish the Side Quest.

Inside the North Cavern, you will encounter monsters. Spend a night talking, then continue on. Once up the circular ramp, you will see some rhyming bandits and then encounter a choice:

It's better go in, too.
(Go with the kids)
Better stay here.
(Melville protests and you are given both choices again. The second time, Alanis begs, the third Elliot chastises you. Then you are thrown back to the original Melville protest, making this a loop until you accept)

You will go down the ramp, then fight two Bandits, whom you must defeat to continue the story. Just beyond the Save Point, you will reach some iron bars and the kids will run ahead and be trapped on the other side of the bars. Hugo, Lulu, and Sgt. Joe will be required to fight Four Bandits, again having to defeat them to finish the story. Then Guillame will tell his insidious plots, and threaten to hold the children hostage. Melville will challenge Guillame to a duel, which Guillame will accept [H1b2].

No matter how you play this, Guillaume will only lose one hit point then stop losing health. Also, the statements Guillame makes do not reflect the choices he makes: for example, he said "Let me show you my deathblow attack" then defended, but on the next round, with the same saying, he deathblow attacked. Thus, Melville will never be permitted to win by the computer. After Melville is defeated, Lulu threatens Guillame, having been let in by Alanis and Elliott. Guillame runs off and the six travelers find what they came for. Thus, they go back to Vinay del Zexay fulfilled (sort of).

In Vinay del Zexay, the kids say "Goodbye" to you and to each other and you find yourself in front of the Inn. This takes you back to [H1] !Zexen Letter (delivery).
