Born 1960 in Rewa, Baoni is an alumnus of Shantiniketan, West Bengal from where he graduated and post graduated in painting and received specialised training in Murals (terra -Cotta, frescoes in Indian and European techniques and Mosaic).

Participations
He has been participating in all India Art Exhibitions and National Exhibitions with Paintings, Mural, etc., since 1983. He has held solo exhibition: Ecole D'Art" in Aisc-En_Provence, France-1992, and in ABC Art Gallery, Varanasi-1994. He participated in an exhibition of "The Works of Uttar Pradesh Artists", organised by UP State LKA, Lucknow, held in Bhubneshware, Orissa, India. He participated thrice in Working Artists of Varanasi and in Kala Mela, in New Delhi and Calcutta.He also participated in Artists Camps Organised by North Zone Cultural Centre, Allahabad-1994 and All India Artist Camp by ABC Akademi, Varanasi - 1996. Not been limited to just these, he got into group shows in India and abroad since 1985.

Commissions
He executed independently a mural in Mosaic in the Department of Philosophy at Vishawa Bharati, Shantiniketan - 1983, in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh - 1991 and executed in group in metro Calcutta - 1983. Executed independently a mural in New Delhi in 1998

Scholarships
In 1991, Baoni obtained a French Government Scholarship for one year of advanced studies in Fine arts in France. Recently he received junior fellowship from department of Culture, Ministry of Human Resource & Development, New Delhi.
He travelled Italy, Germany, Holland, Belgium, U.K., and some of the Europeans Countries. He visited Australia as a member of Indian Youth Delegation to participate in India Today Celebration 1994.

Collections
His works are not just limited to public collections, but people world over, especially in Europe, Australia, and India, loved making his work as their assets.

He belongs to the family of traditional painters, still actively practicing. Father was the head to 34th generation (1234 A.D.) of court Painter/Fresco Painter in Baghelkhandi style (Raipur Paintings) at Rewa State.

At present he is a lecturer in Painting, Vsanta College (Krishnamurti Foundation India), Rajghat Fort Varanasi, India.
