Bailey is Genotypically (DNA) Affected with Progressive Retinal Atrophy. She is currently unafflicted at nine years old. Since the results of her DNA test and the affected result, she has taken a 2mg lutein supplement and 2000+mg of fish oil daily. To date, she still has full vision without any signs of PRA.

She is also hypothyroid. Her full thryroid panel sent to MSU revealed a very low normal. Only one point within the range. Based on her behavioral changes, we decided to treat her with a low dosage. She receives 0.3 mg of Thryoxine twice daily. This has made a huge difference in her life. Bailey contributes to the large number of dogs who have responded incredibly well to treatment of a low normal thyroid. Despite having an OFA number for being within the normal range, she is hypothyroid and on treatment.

Now, more about her, as a dog! Bailey is my little girl and a princess. She is by no means prissy though and is all about loving life which means swimming in muck, playing in the snow, running agility in the rain, and getting good and muddy just for the fun of it. This girl has spunk and character all rolled into a pretty and lovable package. Quite shy and hesitant for many years, clicker training brought her out of her shell and she has blossomed into the dog I always knew she could be. She is such a fun dog, always ready for any game I want to play. One of her many talents is snorting like a pig which has earned her the nicknames of "pig" and more recently, "princess pig."

Sinec beginning tracking in the summer of 2008, we have made a lot of progress. She enjoys it more than any activity we have ever done. She pulls like a maniac and is proving to me that we will be able to trial successfully some day soon!

Bailey is registered with and competes in AKC, USDAA, NADAC, and CPE.

Bailey is CPE registered as "Aroha's Limited II Irish Creme" because I couldn't put "Madam Bailey Angel" on another form. I sure wish I could change her registered name now!
