Welcome!

Arianna of Wynthrope is the name of my persona within the Society for Creative Anachronism. The SCA is a non-profit organization that re-creates the crafts and culture of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.

I live in the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, ( Pittsburgh, PA), which is a large group within the Kingdom of Æthelmearc.

I have been active in the SCA since 1977.  Over the years I have been honored by the Crowns of Æthelmearc and the East with various awards, mostly for service and the arts, especially choral music and calligraphy & illumination.  I am a Mistress of the Pelican and the Laurel, and if you really want to know about the rest, you can always look them up in the Æthelmearc Order of Precedence. I direct and sing in the Debatable Choir, an a Cappella group that performs medieval and renaissance music at SCA events.  Back when I lived in the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael, from 1977-1990, I co-founded the Rhydderich Hael Singers and the Rhydderich Hael Calligraphers' Guild.  I've been East Kingdom Chronicler and Æthelmearc Principality Signet, as well as seneschale of both the Rhydderich Hael and the Debatable Lands. I also like sewing everything from tents to costumes, and have been known to do a little counted thread embroidery from time to time, as well as target archery. 

I  have two sons, Kenneth and Robert, who are 11 and 8 and also enjoy attending SCA events.  They both participate in youth combat and target archery but mostly like running around whacking each other, in or out of armor. 

 In the real world, I am Karen Kasper.  I am an instructional designer for The Abreon Group.
