Chapter 12

Ive have never seem a monster in real life, Ive only seen them enough on the games Ive played and the TV I watch to know that that was a walking, breathing monster!  It had the shape of a cow, but not the colour, head, or feet. The feet has some nasty looking claws that are flat enough to act as hooves.

The colour of the monster was of pale blue and grey, like a rhino. Even the texture was like that, or so it seemed.  But it was the head that told us that it was defiantly something mutated or something. For it had no mouth, but little holes where Im guessing it breaths. And the nose was not one nose but like the mouth, many holes. And the eyes, well There was a pair of them that wasnt on his head. They were on long limbs that are attached to its head.

When I first saw this creature. My heart skipped a couple of beats, my hands started to shake, and my legs felt limp. I was sure Callie and Jenn felt the same. But the monster just walked by, never looking down our hall. A huge relief sweep over me.

For a moment, there was nothing but silence. But it was Jenn which was the first to break that silence, Im out of here. The sound of her voice was nothing but fear. It was small, yet audible enough to hear. She quickly turned and ran to the door, she tried to open it and yet, it didnt. No. No. No. No. Jenn repeat as she endlessly tried to open the door, and yet the door just wouldnt budge.

I dont remember the doors locking up ever I muttered to myself. Jenn was still trying to open it still, than finally she gave up. This cant be, she said silently. Callie went up and bent down in front of the lock. She took two of her bobby pins from her hair, by doing so, her bangs came down which only came up to her mouth. She started to twist and bend her pins and started to picklock at the lock.

I didnt know you could picklock. Said Jenn as she quickly cheered up at the sight of some hope in getting out of here. Just something I picked up from my cousins Callie muttered as she concentrated on opening the door. I turned back to look to see if the monster was coming back, but instead I saw Rick standing not too far from us.

I totally forgot about him! He hasnt said a thing since we entered in here. He was only watching down the hall, probably to watch out for that monster. Jenn and Callie were talking about something, so I walked over to Rick. Rick? I asked, not knowing on how to talk to him. Not changing his sight, he told me, We should move out of here soon.

I looked at his face only not to see a troubled, fearful, or scared face. He was emotionless. I turned my face away in a disappointment, Why? He looked at me, than at Callie and Jenn, Because its useless to find an exit now.

There we go!! Callie than stood up and opened the door only to find a wall of bricks. Callie and Jenn just stood there starring in disbelief at the wall that wasnt there before. I stood there shocked; I walked up to my friends and said, What the Hell! Jenn walked up to the wall and banged on it with her fists and her feet. Jenn than stopped kicking the wall and looked at Callie and me.

She not only looked angry and disappointed, she looked pissed off. If her face didnt tell us what she was feeling, than certainly her words would. She just shouted out loud, SHIT!! WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS WALL DOING HERE!?!? Rick than quickly told us, NO! Dont yell!

A horribly sick noise just echoed from the hall, and before we knew where the noise came from, we found that monster at the intersection. Oppss. Jenn muttered. Run! Rick screamed as the monster started to run after us. For a fat creature, it sure is fast.

It ran right into the brick wall and than turned its attention on Jenn who was now crying and shaking unbelievable. Move Jenn! Run I screamed, by she just stood there from pure terror. Rick ran right beside me and pushed Jenn out of the way, and let the monster run right into the wall.

Rick said something to her and she nodded back. He was still saying some to her when my attention went to the mutated cow; he was running right to me! I ran away from it and it was quickly catching up to me. I ran right to Callie, which made Callie running beside me. We ran right to the intersection and to stopped. Turned around and we jumped in different direction because the monster slammed into the wall right between us.

But the monster ran back into the hall we came from, the hall with the bricked wall and Jenn! I quickly got off my butt to the intersection. Before looking down there, I saw Callie still on her side clutching her right shoulder. Are you ok? I asked as I bent down beside her. My arm I think its bruised majorly and its out of joint. She said as she painfully sat up. You can out it back in right? Like you always do. I said with a concerned voice.

Ill try, but my god! This hurts! She said as she suddenly pushed her arm back into place. She screamed a bit, but was moving her arm afterwards. Better? I asked as I helped her up. It still hurt when I move it, probably from the bruise. But next to that, Im ok. She said as we walked to the intersection.

We saw the monster charging at Rick, and Jenn was at one corner sitting there scared, but quickly stood up when she saw us. Spread apart!! She said as she I went against the left wall, and Callie went against the right wall while she still was holding her right shoulder. Rick went to the left corner. We surrounded the monster; I should feel happy since we have an advantage. But I dont, mostly because we have nothing to kill it

The monster just stopped in the middle of all of us. It was quiet, all we heard were the monsters odd and deep breathing, and out own blood pumping through our bodies. The monster just seemed to walking around in a circle, looking over us. Watching us. Probably trying to see which one of us is the weakest to take out first. The weakest one?

Callie! Run! I screamed as I noticed that she would be easy prey. She started to run when she tripped over her own feet. She fell on her bruised shoulder and screamed out in pain. The monster started to run after her. I ran to her and started to try and help her up. I was so desperate; I started to pull her up.

I knew that it was too late to run now. So I bent my head and tried to cover Callie, but the monster didnt run into us, instead it jumped over us. The feet of the creature was just inches away from my head, it would have surly have hit me if I hadnt ducked. Than I quickly rolled forward with Callie pulled behind. I noticed that the monster than tried to kick us with his hind legs, barely missing Callie head.

I looked back to see that the mutated cow was running towards us again. Me and Callie were still on the floor, so I kicked her to the other direction and pushed myself to the other direction. I knew Callie wouldnt have been able to move fast enough, so I hope I didnt kick her hard enough to hurt her badly. The monster just zipped right by me; I quickly got up, ignoring all that pain from falling all over the place.

Jenn quickly came beside me, I didnt know you could do all that kung-fu shit! She said as she stopped and looked at me with pure amazement. I quickly looked at her with an odd expression, What? She quickly said in response, you were flipping all over the place! Than that terrible growl that monster makes got shivers up our spin. Later, we have to leave now!

She started to run as I did. I looked back and noticed that the monster was charging, but there was no one else behind us. Wheres Callie and Rick? I asked Jenn while running. Up ahead! she said as she point up ahead of us. They were at the intersection, Rick was helping Callie as they turned at the corner. Callie looked like she was in pain

I quickly turned the corner and so did Jenn, making the monster slam into the wall. How do we get out of this mess? Asked Jenn. I thought about it for a second, We obviously cant out run it! So were best to hide or something. I said as we caught up with Rick and Callie. Rick was mainly carrying Callie, while Callie was hopping along side of him.

Hide? Sounds good to me! Said Jenn as she ran ahead and tried a door, No good! Fuck, why the hell are all the doors locked! She said as she continued running with us. We quickly turned at the corner, and it slowed the monster at every wall it runs into, making a bigger distance between it and us. But we were starting to get tired, and every door we tried so far was locked.

After several tries we finally came to a double door, The Gym! Jenn quickly approached it and said, God, this door never locked before, dont jinx me now! And she used her every strength left in her and swung the doors open. I could hear say, yes!! in the distance.

Jenn entered in quickly, and something was shot out from the doors. Two little balls that were letting out some foul smell and some thick fog. The smell was like a combination of garbage, gym socks, and skunk. The fog was a thick and white fog that you couldnt see through in a feet.

I just went straight until I reached the doors and entered the area, Rick and Callie came right after me. But when the last of us entered through the doors, they were shut right away.

And what lied in the gym was probably more scarier than that monster. For Jenn was as still as a board and so was I, for there was a crowd of people surrounding us. And some with Guns pointed at us
