EXTREMELY OLD!

So I'm sitting in bed at 5 a.m. on a Friday morning. What the heck?! I don't have to work today...I should be able to sleep until noon...but nooooooo...this body and brain are lying wide awake! So I think 'hey, why don't I work on the bookclub website'....and the rest is history.

Let's see where did we leave off? Oh yeah....bookclub from many moons ago....time for a visit to the Hardyman cabin! Need I say more?! I can't speak for everyone but I know I had a blast! We made a pitstop in Turtle Lake at St Croix Casino....as we were getting ready to leave, Missy M decided to put some $$ in the big dollar machine and won!!! Are drinks on Missy tonight?? We got settled into the cabin and head to McKenzie's Landing for dinner and cocktails....yum. Of course, our night wouldn't be complete without a stop at Bamboozle's for karaoke and shots and whatnot! Damn, we're good! :-) We ended up chatting up with a group of buddies out for a bachelor party....after bar party was fun....the guy dancing with the snowmobile helmet on his head was hilarious!! Anybody remember any names?!!! We chilled the next day after the 'official' bookclub breakfast meeting on the deck....it was wonderful. We went to Jo Mama's for malts....yum! Cocktails, snacks and Bunco....oh, yeah....and laughs!!! We went out for a little bit but not too late....pizza at What The Heck....we stole some birthday cake for Missy A from a party at (dang, can't remember the name of that bar....we crashed a wedding reception there last year....help!) Much fun....can't wait til October!!

Missy M's time to host brought us to The Harbor so she wouldn't miss Amy's birthday party. We took over the little comfy area right in front of the fireplace....the Flynns took over about 8 tables in the center of the bar! :-) Missy hopped between the two gatherings....until it was time to get serious about bookclub! She served up some french fries w/cheese sauce....her favorite....nice of her to share!! Dessert was delicious....

Oh, did we laugh?!!! And then, there was the bookclub cheer to put an official close on the meeting (done especially for Maureen!)...."Eat, Drink, Read"!!! I'm pretty sure I almost peed my pants laughing about that one!!!

Christmas brought us to Katie's house....decorated so nice for the holidays. Delicious dinner, yummy Tom & Jerry's, great conversation (as always). We had a last minute White Elephant gift exchange. I don't think that there was any 'one' hot gift that everyone was after this time around....but Katie ended up with the cardinal statue that Dawn was parting with....especially for Dad Hardyman! I hope he liked it!

Welcome back, Kaari!!!

Dawn's meeting was next up....and she hosted her own Surprise Birthday party!!! Very sneaky the Sisterhood is! As always, Dawn served us up with a wonderful array of cocktails, hors'dourves, and food! We chatted for about 5 minutes about the book and for about an hour about James Frey's recent findings and appearance on Oprah. Enough about that. There's a knock on the door....and in comes Cindy....SURPRISE!! Birthday presents for Dawn....nice 'water sex' book from Mary R!! Ended the evening at Kelly's for karaoke, dancing and 2 a.m. pizza!

Time for me to host the next bookclub. The night was about indulgence....Italian stylie. Mimosas, wine, pasta, dessert all around! It was kind of a quiet evening but enjoyable nonetheless. Poor Laurie wasn't feeling too well....we won't go there right now but I'm just glad it wasn't the food! No Missy M???? She told me she was coming...hmmmm?! No answer to our phone calls trying to find her. We're worried. Happy to hear the next day that she is alive and well and lost some money at the casino!

Apple Valley here we come. Mary H is our host for the most recent meeting. She served us up with great food, wine and brandy slushes. The laughter and conversation flowed. Bookclub news....Mary R's getting married!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!! (hmmmm....i wonder if Missy M knows yet....she wasn't there....again....strike two.) Dawn and I started the evening early when we hooked up with Cindy at Old Chicago....so our evening ended early and we were first to leave....hope we didn't miss out too much fun....someone will have to fill us in!!
