WHEN
Saturday of Presidents' Day Weekend
2000. We would accumulate
enough vacation time and it was a three-day weekend.
WHERE
Anaheim, where we got engaged, was
a central point for our family and friends with
several attractions. Manny found
the Christian
Wedding Planning Center online (please see Planning
Links). We booked their Anaheim
Chapel for the ceremony. Disneyland
Hotel actually offered the
best deal for dining among the many reception venues we visited.
WHO
See wedding party page. We invited
about 300 guests. We wanted our pastor to perform the
wedding ceremony and he graciously drove down for it with his family.
WHAT
The ceremony was a sharing
of our joy and faith with our friends and family. We celebrated
our cultures during the reception. The colors were navy blue (Maid
of Honor's favorite) and silver - ok for winter.
HOW
We kept within a budget because we
had just begun working. Manny's parents provided the
mariachis and lion dancers. God truly worked everything out.
WHY
We believe a marriage
represents the covenant between Christ and His bride,
the church. It didn't take very long for us to know that we
wanted to get married. Manny says it was love at first sight, but I can't imagine
that, because I looked downright hideous in graduate school.
