THE DANVILLE MILITIA
     Active at the end of the war with England, it then had on its roles one hundred
members and was commanded by Capt. Samuel Yorks.  Thomas W. Bell was an
officer. The rest are forgotten.

THE DANVILLE BLUES
         A rifle company commanded by Capt. Issac Blue. Following is a partial roll
of members. The company was in active service on the frontier in 1813.
