Admission Requirements

A. Attendance 1. All students are required 80% attendance in each class and are therefore allowed the maximum number of absences as follows:

• for 3-unit subjects - 11 absences
• for 2-unit subjects - 8 absences
• for 1-unit subjects - 4 absences
• for 3-unit subjects - meeting once a week - 4 absences

2. A student is considered late if he/she arrives within the first twenty minutes of the hour. If he has been late four times, he incurs one absence.


B. Uniform 1. A student must wear the official uniform of the College of Science while within the College.

2. A sketch of the prescribed uniform is given to all new students. For interested parties, copies of these are available at the Dean's Office.

3. All students, new and old, are required to wear the uniform on the first day of classes and every day thereafter.

4. PE uniforms are not allowed in the classroom.

5. A student who does not comply with the College policy on uniform will be sanctioned accordingly:

5.1. For a first time offense, the student shall not be allowed to attend classes from the time of offense until a clearance is issued by the Dean's Office.

5.2. A student, who is charged with non-compliance for a second time, shall not be allowed to attend classes until such time that his/her parent(s) shall have seen the Assistant Dean.

5.3. A third infraction will mean suspension for two weeks or possible dropping from the roster.


C. Identification Card The ID should be worn at all times while within the premises of the University not only for identification but also for security purposes.


D. Dropping or Withdrawal 1. From the entire program
Dropping of a program can be done anytime during the semester. It shall not be valid unless the student:

a. fills up UST Form 4B;

b. secures the approval of the Dean; and

c. obtains from the Registrar's Office the corresponding endorsement to the Accounting Division for adjustment of fees.

2. From individual subjects
A student who for one reason or another, wishes to withdraw from any subject between the end of enrolment and the preliminary examination shall seek the advice of the Dean, who will determine whether the withdrawal is allowed or not. If allowed, the student:

a. accomplish UST Form 6, to be signed by the Dean; and

b. obtain from the Registrar's Office the corresponding endorsement to the Accounting Division for adjustment of fees.


E. Enrolment 1. All regular and irregular students must enroll on the date and time scheduled by the Office of the Dean (Regular students are those who have no failures or back subjects at the time of enrolment and who carry the regular load schedule for their year level).

2. Students who are on probation must secure a permit to enroll from the College Secretary.
