UST CSGC: About this Site

YESSS! Sa wakas nakagawa ako ng web site na white ang background!!! <grin> Kasi, I webmastered two sites na black ang background: UST College of Science (for SY 1997-1998) and The SkyWalker’s Court.

	The UST CS Web Site is the first big web site I experienced to create together with some of my classmates (it is our project for Software Engineering).
	The SkyWalker’s Court on the other hand, is made as an offer to the Sysop of The SkyWalker's Court BBS (the only BBS in Pampanga).

And now, I did this web site -- it's a great honor for me to be asked to create the UST CSGC's Internet presence. I dedicate this web site to the past, present, and future generations of this familial organization, in which I became a member & officer.

During the times I created these web sites, it took me:

	A lot of time & hard work. Fortunately, I have lots of it those times. While working, I always echo in my mind this saying from St. John Bosco: "Do your ordinary duties extraordinarily well."
	Microsoft Word. This de facto standard word processor has been my tool for web site planning: navigation structure & web content. It’s like me having the role of Tina (the Editor-in-Chief of the UST College of Science Journal, SY 1997-1998).
	Microsoft FrontPage. Netscape Composer is just an HTML editor. My two-thumbs up reward goes to FrontPage: one for FP Editor (excellent & comprehensive tools for HTML editing), and one for FP Explorer (site management, link-checking & file tracking).
	Textpad & Editpad. When edits to HTML code are relatively simple, I use these text editors.
	Adobe PhotoShop & Adobe PageMaker. Here, my role is a Graphic Artist. And hey, these programs are powerful! I used them to compose the cover design for the UST College of Science Journal Momentum (March 1998 issue) and the center graduation stage banner (used in PICC last April 1998).
	Paint Shop Pro & IrfanView. I use these to manage screen captures & to reduce the number of colors in images without affecting quality.
	Microsoft Internet Explorer 4. The most controversial browser is my browser of choice. This web site uses CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and only MSIE4 comprehensively supports it. I also have Netscape Navigator 4 in my computer. Between the two, I noticed that MSIE 4 loads faster and displays pages faster!
