Coming Of Age

And so it shall come to pass
That he shall be fashioned from the finest of ornaments
That he shall be pampered with offers of affection
That he shall indulge in the pleasures of the spirits
That he shall wander in the desert and reach the point of nowhere
Until he becomes ripe of age from whence he shall be transformed
And he shall henceforth perform that which to him is of his true nature.

To find a brook that sings merrily on its way to the ecstatic sea
To partake of that which when given taketh not from whence it comes from
To be like a spring that pours forth nourishment for a barren land
To roar like a thunder that breaks the stillness of the night
To be like a flame that consumes every fiber of her tenderness.

And no more shall the moon hide its beauty from the dark clouds of despair
And no more shall the flower hide its tears from the honey bee
And no more shall the lion show mercy on the scavengers of the forest
For it is written and so shall it be.
