sometimes a day just seems like it's going to suck...and then it ends up being a pretty good day. |
yesterday, as if on cue, the second i finished my entry (you know the one, where i was bitching about the lack of faith people have in me at my job, and how they seem to like to give me busy work??) an ae that i do some work for from time to time asked me if i was busy, i said "no", assuming she needed help with a real job. |
she was putting together the agency books-a tedious job that she alone is in charge of every month, because she is like an intern. she actually had me help her with it...i was a little surprized she even asked, because everyone knows the job sucks, and it in no way is a part of my job description. but then, i decided i was being a snob (in my head, if not verbally), so i helped without saying a word...and it was actually not so bad. |

but then...i felt like i was rewarded for not verbalizing my snobby thoughts, because i got to do some artwork for a tv-spot we're doing for the agency. now that was fun! then, paul and i got tickets to the season opener for the twins. although, that ended up being a little misleading. |

this big client of ours sent us 10 tickets for anyone who'd like to attend. they were going to have a pre-game party in a tent outside the metrodome...and we heard there was to be free beer and brats. then, we assumed, (since this guy is super rich) that the seats would kick ass. |
well, we got there, and found the tent - - and the mile long line of people going into it. we stood in line to get in, because it seemed to be going fast....basically it turned out that every employee, client, friend, acquaintance, etc...was invited to this thing by this guy. he was giving away free tee shirts and cracker jacks. he had bought out an entire section of the seats and was handing them out to these people. so, we got a free $10 ticket to the game, but no beer, and no brats. |

it was still fun, though i have to admit, i'll never be a huge baseball fan. the timberwolves are much more exciting to watch...but i'm glad i went for the season opener. |
