monday - june twenty-six, two thousand - 9:24am
i counted thirteen snails in my tank today - and those are the ones i could see!. this is going to get out of hand.... right now, they're fairly small and i don't think it's a problem, but if they get a lot bigger i'm going to have to search out alternate residences for a few of them. man, they're like rabbits - i had no idea snails procreated so quickly - and OFTEN!!!
i think today is the day i find out if i won the squishy splash page contest.... here's hoping. oh, by the way, i recently cancelled my earthlink account, so as of today there will be an alternate email address attached to my pages - anything before this won't work (i don't think), except my index page... i changed that one too. just fyi.
paul and i went and looked at a bmw 325 this weekend that he was interested in buying. it was a '92 for $8000, so we knew it wasn't going to be perfect. the guy said it was in "average condition".... bullshit! it was TRASHED! p and i nicknamed it the 'ghetto fabulous bmw' - what a heap! but, it was still a blast to drive - it was a 5 speed, and it drove like a dream... now paul knows that's what he wants to get for almost certain - we just need to find one in a bit better shape.
today is mary's birthday - i forget how old she said she is, like 28, i think. we're meeting her and a few of her other friends at the crabshack tonight for dinner... should be a good time. this one chick that used to work at this agency will be there that i don't care for a whole lot - but i can be cool for mary's sake... isn't that big of me?
the people at work are really starting to get to me lately. the guy that sits right next to me especially - paul and i call him the 'food snob' because he thinks he's minneapolis's best food critic. (the idea of eating a big mac would send him into convulsions)....but, in truth, he's just a snob in general. he thinks he's god's gift to advertising - and no one in this entire agency has even a tiny percentage of the talent that he does - least of all me. he seems to think he knows a lot about the art world - in all aspects...food, music, graphics, photography....etc. i don't see anything wrong with being cultered, but i don't understand why some people have to be such hoity-toities about it.... don't they know how annoying that is? and the ironic thing about him is he's the first one to be pullin' up the porno at work.... and he's addicted to those little clips you can get online of people doin outrageous things like jumping out of a 15 story building because there's a fire in the building.....and once he does find one of these little gems, i have the joy of hearing it repeated 20 times in the next few days while he plays it for whomever happens to walk by!
plus, he's the loudest mo-fo on earth. there have been times when i could not hear the person on the other end of my phone because he was 'talking' in the next cubicle.
