tuesday - june twenty-seven, two thousand - 10:57am

it turns out i won't know about the splash contest until tomorrow.... so, i'm anxiously awaiting the results.

i decided to sell my imac... i put it up on ebay yesterday. in two months or so i'm moving in with paul and he already has one. i barely use mine anymore anyway....since i graduated. the g3 i have at work is so much bigger and better and faster that i have no patience for my little imac. i hope it sells for at least $500... i think it's worth that much - pretty soon the new batch of macs will be coming out, so i figured i'd better sell it before that happens because it's quickly becoming obsolite.

last night was the dinner celebration for mary's birthday. wow - what a crazy place that crabshack is.... talk about your visual stimuli... there wasn't one square inch in this place that wasn't covered in something obnoxious-looking... they dance and make you sing happy birthday with your butt (i know, i didn't get it either)... mary made me stand up with her while they embarassed her. i told her she owes me big time. we drank these funny, slushy concoctions called 'tye dyes' that come in two foot tall glasses that you can keep and make your tongue purple. (p and i had a bet as to how much liquid they held, and i bribed the waiter into saying i was right even though p was right)..... the waiters wear shirts that say 'got crabs?' on the front, and 'we do!' on the back. all in all, it was a pretty fun evening.

paul and i have been ring shopping lately - just so he can get an idea about what i like for future reference.... and i found this awesome site where you can design your own ring - it's called 'diamond.com' (catchy, eh?) - it's great cuz you pick out the exact diamond you want first - and it lists everything you would possibly want to know about each one - cut, color, clarity, depth, table, luster, blah-blah-blah.... so you know exactly what you're getting and then you put it in a setting. it was so much fun, i couldn't stop playing with it yesterday. we had actually already found one i liked at spence about two or three weeks ago, but now i found another one i like - which is good, because now paul has the option to pick between a couple rather than being stuck with only one choice. we also found one he likes for himself too - it's really cool, i thought he'd be the type to go with a plain band, but he actually picked one that's got a cool weaved design in the middle - i've never seen one quite like it.

so, we've been having fun with all that stuff lately. it's gettin' serious boys and girls - you never know what's gonna happen next in the crazy, exciting world of alex's atelier (whatever.....).
