Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads; on each of its horns there was a crown, and on each of its heads there was a name that was insulting to God.
The beast looked like a leopard, with feet like a bear's feet and a mouth like a lion's mouth. The dragon gave the beast his own power, his throne, and his vast authority.
One of the heads of the beast seemed to have been fatally wounded, but the wound had healed. The whole earth was amazed and followed the beast.
Everyone worshipped the dragon because he had given his authority to the beast. They worshipped the beast also, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who can fight against it?"
The beast was allowed to make proud claims which were insulting to God, and it was permitted to have authority for forty-two months.
It began to curse God, his name, the place where he lives, and all those who live in heaven.
It was allowed to fight against God's people and to defeat them, and it was given authority over every tribe, nation, language, and race.
All people living on earth will worship it, except those whose names were written before the creation of the world in the book of the living which belongs to the Lamb that was killed.
"Listen, then, if you have ears!
Whoever is meant to be captured will surely be captured; whoever is mean to be killed by the sword will surely be killed by the sword. This calls for endurance and faith on the part of God's people." (Here it say if God fated you to live, you live, if God fated you to be killed by the sword, you will be killed by the sword.)
Then I saw another beast, which came up out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb's horns, and it spoke like a dragon.
It used the vast authority of the first beast in its presence. It forced the earth and all who live on it to worship the first beast, whose wound had healed.
This second beast performed great miracles; it made fire come down out of heaven to earth in the sight of everyone.
And it deceived all the people living on earth by means of the miracles which it was allowed to perform in the presence of the first beast. The beast told them to build an image in honour of the beast that had been wounded by the sword and yet lived.
The second beast was allowed to breathe life into the image of the first beast, so that the image could talk and put to death all those who would not worship it.
The beast forced all the people, small and great, rich and poor, slave and free, to have a mark placed on their right hands or on their foreheads.
No one could buy or sell unless he had this mark, that is, the beast's name or the number that stands for the name.
This calls for wisdom. Whoever is intelligent can figure out the meaning of the number of the beast, because the number stands for a man's name. Its number is 666.
King James Version
13:1 | And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
13:2 | And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
13:3 | And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
13:4 | And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
13:5 | And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
13:6 | And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
13:7 | And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
13:8 | And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
13:9 | If any man have an ear, let him hear.
13:10 | He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
13:11 | And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
13:12 | And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13:13 | And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
13:14 | And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
13:15 | And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
13:16 | And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
13:17 | And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
13:18 | Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. |
The beast, V1, could be our nose same as dragon, V4.
V5 is talking of a Godless world, decadent society with disregard to authority. It has to last for 3 and a half years.
V8 is telling you, your original names before the creation, are already there. Your name and my name are human given, not the original names. So God, Jesus Christ, Moses etc are all human given names. The original name should be VOID.
V10 Here it say if God fated you to live, you live, if God fated you to be killed by the sword, you will be killed by the sword.
V11 another beast - to confuse readers.
V16 - This is to confuse readers about the Mark on our forehead. The Mark on the hand is referring to Chinese Triads. New members have to prick their middle fingers to draw blood into a bowl containing cockeral blood and water. They have to drink from it among themselves, so they are called Blood Brothers. The prick point is the Mark.
V18 - Wisdom is needed. 666 is just 6 in Chinese 3 times. It can joints up to form big, 'ta', then sky, 'tien', which usually refers to our forehead or temple. One eye is sun, the other moon in Taoist terms. When they join together like looking inward, they form bright word. That is to say we have to look inward to meditate, like looking at Jesus Christ inside us.
