Jeff's Story
Meet Jeff,
Hi! I am Jeff and I have been living with Type 1 Diabetes since I was 18 months old. I am not going to say that it has been an
easy journey, however it has been an educational one. I have sought a better life living with these challenges, and feel I have nearly
accomplished it with the help of modern medicine and technology. I no longer feel like my life is dragged down by t1d, but improved in
a way.
Annie's Story
Meet Annie,
I'm Annie! I am 9 years old and I got diabetes when I was 3. I don't like it very much but it has gotten easier. My parents
mostly help me with my medication, and sometimes I can't play too much at school because my bloodsugar is low, but that is ok. Ever
since I got a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) my life has gotten a lot easier. And I can play soccer with my friends more!
Hal's Story
Meet Hal,
Hello I am Hal. I have been around since before modern technology has made life with t1d easy. I used to guess how much insulin
I needed for each injection, because the first insulin injection had only been performed 15 years prior to when I became diabetic.
Time has passed and technology has improved and I have seen the blessings of science effect my life. Living with t1d now is not a cake walk,
but atleast I CAN walk due to the new forms of blood sugar tracking instruments available to me heh.
Forest's Story
Meet Forest,
Hey! I am a 22 year old college student studying Psychology at the University of San Diego. I was just oh so blessed with type 1
diabetes about 10 years ago at the age of 12. I feel like I was a little young to understand the impact this would have on my life, however
I feel like I can understand it now. It has been nothing but difficult, yet educating at the same time. I have been able to help so many of
my firends understand how type 1 diabetes works, and they have been able to help look after me and others that live with it. I am glad I
have been able to be a source of knowlege for others on the subject.
