THE 40 HOUR DAY

Man oh man was it an adventurous time these past 2 days... Thursday morning it was snowing, so I went to Vassar for classes (midterm)... Eventually, it got to snow so much that it appeared that I was marooned at college. After all classes and tests, I stayed at the library, then said  bye bye to Monica (who had to be going home) and went sledding with Gina in the new snow.... and ICE. =( Parents seemed to be in favor of me staying at Vassar because of all the snow (and even though I got my car to finally move, I prefered staying for the night anyway.)

Anyway, at 9pm, Marc, GIna, Laura and I met up at Rocky to play
Pictionary once again... then Meera, Emily, and Eri dropped in and we got to play one big session. ("Victorian study" is just plain unfair.) Also, I there were about 4 or 5 rounds of box dueling... The boxes got smashed to hell though...

After the game,  the 3 people left and it was just us 4 again... Now we got to play
Murder! This time, we got all FOUR dark floors of Rocky to use along with the creepy elevator. Scares galore! Like living a horror movie or something... At about 4 am or so, the security came and kicked us out, thus heroically saving the day in the name of peace and security to the residents of Vassar once again...

After that, it was off to Strong's MPR where we sat around listening to
celebrity prank calls and eating Ramen soup. Afterwards, Gina and I set the Strong House record for most completed frisbee passes while going in circles around the MPR while Marc and Laura asked each other pondering questions from the Question Book. At about 6:30 or so, everyone finally got tired and we put ourselves down on the couches and fell asleep.

At about 7:10 I woke up to move my car off-campus (still dunno why I bothered) to avoid getting another ticket. When I came back, I saw everyone still asleep and took that pic that you see above. Then went back to sleep.

When I woke up, everyone was already awake and leaving... I wondered whether I should bother going to class or not, then figured I would. Went to get breakfast where I found Marc (who seemed disturbed that I took a voyeur pic of him asleep but I think he'll live) and then went to
English with him. Apparently, the one hour of sleep I had wasn't enough and I pretty much snoozed through all of that class... Prud'dhome was cool about it. =)

I was kinda wondering if should go home yet cause I didn't enjoy being all dirty and dusty from sleeping in 2 layers of pants and boots.... but I had a lunch with Andrew and his dad ahead of me. We went to
Cracker Barrel in Fishkill where we basically went over the upcoming trip to Hunter Mountain.... Afterwards, they both went home and I drove back to Vassar to meet Marc and Emily for this dinner thing we planned. Instead, we ended up driving around to the THs to drop off flowers and such...

While everyone was packing up for going home, Marc and I walked to Strong to find everyone. No one was in their rooms or the MPR.... then we hear singing coming from the bathroom... What the-?

Surely enough, it was Gina, Meera, and Laura performing songs in the shower... Marc and I hang outside the bathroom just listening for awhile... then when they get to doing "American Pie", we barge into the
bathroom singing along! That was fun... I'm pretty sure they were surprised (even though Gina claims she could tell something like that would happen.) The singing goes on for awhile while I shave with a razor gifted to me by Emily. (thanks!) It kinda sucked that everyone was getting clean while I was still dirty =(....

Afterwards, the 5 of us met with Emily and Chris to go to
Miss Saigon for Vietnamese food! Man they got some good tea there... after that, I was thinking of going home to get cleaned up and such.... So I left people to go to my car.... but then realized that I wasn't gonna see anyone for 2 weeks.... so I grabbed Eva (who I brought with me) and ran back to Strong where Laura, Gina, and Marc were lounging around Laura's room (while the others were away packing)... There, we watched "The Nightmare Before Christmas", played the fake arm game, tossed around a bunch of stuffed animals, then called up the rest of the people to play more Pictionary.

But Rocky was already locked up =(.... every other place with a blackboard must have been, too... so instead, we waited around Laura's room while everyone showed up. In the meantime, I brought out Eva and we started
singing songs together! A more complete version of "Amercan Pie" was first... then a few Michelle Branch songs... "Save Tonight," "Closing Time," "Keep Fishin," "Adam's Song," "Good Riddance," "Island in the Sun," "Buddy Holly," "MInority," "Waiting," "Brain Stew," and a few more.... it was great stuff indeed! The kind of stuff that makes me happy I learned to play in the first place.

Finally, at about 1 AM, I said bye bye and went home... When I got there, I I finally had a thorough
shower... and after 40 crazy hours, I was finally home. Then I lay down for some much-needed sleep.

GONE FOR THE WEEK

Not that I expect too many people to care, but there won't be updates here in awhile... I'm off with Andrew to Hunter mountain... I'm leaving today in the afternoon and won't be back until next Sunday...
I'll be cut off from the Internet so I probably won't hear from you guys... BUT, I do believe you can get in touch with me if you want on my cellphone...

The number is
(845)-489-4880... call preferably after 9pm since odds are I won't have the phone on me any other time and plus, it's cheaper that way...

Anyhow... I'll be taking photos, some of which you'll likely see on this page... Also I'll get to sled/ski/snowtube... it seems like fun....I'll miss people, but they'll be with me in.... spirit or something...

Oh I was in NJ today... nothing too interesting really, same annoying mall with scum people and traffic on a typical Saturday.... My cousin gave me a Green Day tab book, that's very cool (Thanks Elena, I think you'll be reading this within the week)

Here's some words for all of you that you should keep in mind while I'm gone...

Monica: Not all guys are like that John dude, but you know it. Watch more movies and feel better with your doctors!
Marc: Just so you know, Monica solved the riddle in 30 seconds... but that's cause she and I think alike... most other people had trouble too...
Gina: So are you a fan of entropy or do you favor the theory of order and predictability?
Lida: Don't forget, I still have that "written proof"... heheheh >=) Sorry I couldn't be here today... but I'm all up for the idea of hanging out the week you have break if you can swing it...
Theresa: Thanks for the drawing, but I'm still not sure why you gave it to me...
Chris: Have mucho sexy fun with Kerri!!! Make lots of..... uh, that thing... you know.... spaghetti.

Well anyway, that about does it....  "so adios, amigo(s).... and thanks for not getting yourself killed!"
(Tell me where that line is from and I will bring you back something nice!!)

SKIING VACATION
Part 1
Featuring the War in Iraq, an Aussie instructor, and a million broken items!

Okay, so the week-long trip with Andrew to Hunter Mountain kicked ass. We got there and it was pretty damn refreshing to wake up every day with nothing to do. Get up, eat, watch TV as this Iraq fiasco unfolded before our very eyes... and then of course came the skiing.... I took about 4 lessons, 2 of which became private lessons with a super pretty Australian/German instructor...

But she was effective! I learned stuff pretty damn fast and eventually made it to the blue trails without falling down! =) Proud of myself...

Then..... tragedy strikes! FOUR things break down on me while I'm up there.... credit card gets rejected (is later restored), laptop refuses to turn on, camera perpetually running out of batteries.... AAhh! Then, the worst of the worst.... middle of the skiing lodge parking lot, car just dies.... won't budge! 8-O Then all these peple start running up and sticking their nose in our business, offering their own bright and ingenious advice while asking stupid shit like "Where's the battery?" Grrr....

We barely got it back into the condo parking lot when the car died for the final time.... it was left stranded there for the night until me and my dad came back to rescue it by replacing the alternator (which was giving me crap since the beginning of the week)....

Anyway, that's all I can tell at 1:30 AM.... there's more to come in Part 2!

Part 2 features lobster, pizza, Donkey Kong County, Cuban B, Chemical Ali & more!.....

SKIING VACATION
Part 2
Featuring Cuban B, lobster, and Chemical Ali!
For those of you who tuned in last week, I was talking about my skiing trip over spring break with Andrew.

So anyway, Cuban B is this thing Andrew picked up from "Half Baked"... I never saw the movie, but apparently that was part of it... and it was pretty much some week-long gag that we played out out of boredom.

Now, about the lobster... Man we visited a hell of a lot of diners while up there... Andrew ate lobster on the first day... something funny about a guy eating something with a bib... LOL...

Anyway, we also got to watch some hockey on ESPN... some pretty exciting matchups... plus it took away from the Iraq thing which got to be such a horrible bore soon... and then in an attempt to kill a mosquito,  I grabbed some fashion  magazine and attempted to slap the bug silly with the cover girl's breasts... however, I think I missed the mosquito and instead whacked one of Andrew's imported Russian pitchers... the handle broke off and the next day we took some crazy glue to fix it up....

Well it looks like Chemical Ali (A guy who sounds like a Eurotrash DJ) has died... Can't say that I'm the one who's crushed, but there's still some people in our own presidential palaces who I wouldn't mind seeing bombed... speaking of which, he shall always live on in my alternate AIM screenname "Khemical Ali"....

It's good to be back at Vassar. A new song is finished and I'm very happy indeed. More are brewing!

BAMF! FOUNDER'S DAY
Sumo Wrestling Mayhem

I suppose this should have more color to it... but, well, it doesn't. And so....

Yesterday was Vassar's Founder's Day.... a very fun time! You ever try that sumo-wrestling stuff? You know, the kind where you get into sumo suits and jump at each other, trying to knock down the other person? (Who the f*** am I talking to?) Anyway, that's what me and Seth did and we went through about 5 or 6 rounds and then I died... hehe...

So anyway, after trying out as a 6'1" 155lb. sumo wrestler, I ventured with Gina to one of those spinny things... eh, you know, where they have the chairs tied to a big carousel thing and it spins you around like on a swingset and we spin and kick each other.... did that twice, and then got my fortune read... Apparently good luck for me up until October, that is, if I don't die in a drunk driving accident sometime this month (so I heard). Then we were eating a falafel like two stray cats in an alley...

Wheee... then a trip to the mall to get my sister a present (it's her birthday today, she's 17) and then guitar playing atop a cliff overlooking the Hudson by the bridge.... And right after that, fireworks and Dr. Seuss movies back at Vassar's Sunset Lake! Kinda hectic towards the end though, racing across streets to get to places in time (all while listening to Bad Religion.) =)

So anyway, it was a great time..... and Friday we saw X-Men 2 on its opening day... a really kickass movie, very much an improvement over the original... if you haven't seen it, go check it out... just don't expect another Oscar-winning performance by Halle Berry...

THE END OF VASSAR
My trip to NYC and the Devils' trip to Ottawa

Well everything is over and done with as far as this school year goes. The last final was Tuesday (Damn Drama) and everybody left. Gina and I stayed with her to drive her home to Astoria on Wednesday. The drive there was fun (I discovered where the Palisades Mall is) and then the city itself was great. The history museum with armored fish, the Big Bang, and evolved dinosaur pelvis holes was interesting stuff... that was followed by subway rides leading to the World Trade Center site where we learned quite a lot of stuff about the event and the towers themselves from this dude who was yelling stuff on the street corner. We also went to the Winter Garden where there was an exhibit of the reconstruction designs. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the LMDC site for updates. Personally, I wouldn't have picked this one, but whatever.

After that, we tried to go to Times Square, but fell asleep on the subway and ended up somewhere in Brooklyn. We spent half an hour getting back but finally got there. Saw the big Toys R' Us with the robot dinosaur and giant Lego skyscrapers... then Gina made a small Lego building of her own while I made a half-assed Russian castle hehe... Afterwards, we went to eat at the TGIFriday's (pricy shit!) and then headed back to Astoria and I left for good this time =(.... Now Gina and I will have to spend some time 100 miles apart... But the good news is that June 8th (right before my film school starts), we'll all probably meet up for Emily's birthday... Marc and Laura and whoever else can make it will be there too.... so that's already something to look forward to.

Anyway, about the Devils. Well, I feared they might have lost last night, and my fears were confirmed. =(!!!! They have one last chance to redeem themselves tomorrow night. That's right, Game 7 in Ottawa, Canada. Do or die. So let's root for them!

THE CURSE OF JOJO
In just about a week, my 4th and last short fim from Vassar's summer program will be complete! It's the story of a dude who receives a strange chain-letter monkey in the mail and has one day to pass him along to another person before he is cursed. The whole movie should run about 4-5 minutes, nothing too huge. Right now, only the first rough draft is finished.
