Hello again fair inhabitants of this rotating ball of dirt on which we all reside. It has been a while since I have checked in with you, but I figured it would be pointless over the holidays. Not to mention the fact that I was drunk the entire time. Before I go off on another of my tirades, I want to take this opportunity to squish the squash - whatever rumors you may have heard regarding the Sport Page are just that - RUMORS - I guess when the new kid on the block starts to gather a head of steam, the elder dweller feels threatened and starts to resort to cheap tactics to try and steer people away from the place. So, for the record - the Page is up ands running, AND prospering, so don't let the rumors sway you. If you hear a rumor, contact me and I will tell you how it is. |

Well, 2001, while it started off pretty shitty, ended up on a pretty decent note.Well, I am still single, which sucks, but that's my own fault and I can't blame anyone but myself, so get out your violins and play me a sad tune. Let's see what happened this past year, if I can recall. 2001 was the year I continued to rediscover my crazy side, and actually took it to a whole new level. From lighting off fireworks in the middle of the road, to lighting them off from the crack of my ass (yes, not a metaphor - I actually placed a roman candle between the cheeks while the throngs of supporters egged me on), to nearly maiming myself on a regular basis accepting stupid drunken dares (Irwin, if I didn't know you better, I'd say you are trying to kill me without getting your hands dirty) 2001, was certainly an exciting year in my little world. |

I made many little excursions abroad, taking the madness on the road with me, forever infecting and polluting the minds of those unfortunate to have crossed my path. I showed MANY people how a Scotsman drinks (I respect you Irish, but come on - it takes 3 of you to make one of me when it comes to drinking) I discovered a LOT of cool new bands. Awesome rock/metal bands who, if given the right break, can make some waves. For all you punk/metal fans out there, remember this name - Pure Rubbish - when you hear them, the first thing that comes to mind is Guns N Roses from the Uzi Suicide days. I made a lot of new friends - genuinely good people who are a treat to be around. I put on some size. From tipping the scales at a massive 160 pounds on St Patty's day, to a respectable 219 pounds as of today. I first laid eyes on Spa Girl. I won't go any further into that cuz there's no way of explaining it without making me look bad. I got a cool new gig. Yes, the Flavor Productions team recruited me to do trivia at the Sport Page. With the help and support of Ethan Garret and Mike Birt, I was able to work up the nerve to do it. Of course, I MUST give a shout out to my mentor, Steve "Myllar" Barber. Whatever I know about doing trivia, I learned from him. And Barber was kind enough to give me a hand and co host with me when he was home for the holidays - thanks Barb! Now, you all know me - I am not gonna make any New Year's resolutions - I believe resolutions are for pussies. In other words, if you are gonna change something, you change it on the spot. You don't pick a day down the road to change, cuz it ain't gonna happen. You just do it right there and live with it. Cuz if you don't change it right on the spot, then you don't really wanna change at all - you just kid yourself into thinking you do. |

So, this is not a resolution, but more of a continued step in the right direction - as you all know, I am not that great with the ladies. I mean, I can talk to any girl on the planet and be myself around them and what not. My problem is, if I remotely like them or think I might like them or wanna get to know them (you get the drift) then I become a silent moron. Yes, the ever-present Scottish Jab shuts up around the company of a female he likes. I have been getting better lately. Yes, I am still single, but I am getting more relaxed. More confident. So, hopefully by this time next year, I will be writing about the wonderful girl in my life (cue the Disney music "when you wish upon a star..................") but only time will tell. |
