Abstract:

A new species of shrimps belonging to the genus Xiphocaris is described. It was collected in the montanious areas of Topes de Collantes, Sierra Maestra and Sierra del Purial, at altitude of more than 600 m asl. X. gomezi sp. n. was compared with X. elongata (Guérin-Méneville, 1855)

A new species of cavernicolous freshwater shrimps belonging to genus Typhlatya is described. It was collected at cave Perico Sanchez, Jagüey Grande, Matanzas province, Cuba.
