  The Isopods are a group not very studied in Cuba, although in the last years, a number of new genera and species have been described to science. Recently, it was published the complete review of the family Delatorreidae , an interesting group of terrestrial isopod.

Atya lanipes

  Cuba exhibits the richest fauna of the fresh and brackish waters shrimps of the West Indies, with 32 species (50% of endemism) included in five families and 13 genera. If the Subterranean Species are taken only in consideration, except United States and Mexico, our archipelago register the biggest number of species of the whole American Continent (14 species with 75 % of endemism)
