What Matters Most

A Reaction Paper based on the movie
"The Ultimate Gift".

Are you feeling sorry for yourself? What if your problems were reasons to rejoice? Can you imagine that a crisis might be an opportunity or even a gift in disguise? Here's a movie entitled "The Ultimate Gift" which follows about a wealthy, immature young man on a journey of spiritual and emotional discovery to uncover one of life's ultimate spiritual question, "What is the relationship between wealth and happiness?"It was his grandfather who gave him an unlikely inheritance-a crash-course on life-taking him on a path that will change him forever. For me, this film carries on the tradition of passing on the wisdom of the ages to a generation sorely in need of guidance and reminds viewers that being human is more than existence and survival; it is connection with one another that enriches our lives and those around us.

Teenagers and Young Adults Do Everything Online

Thursday, January 6, 2011

The lifestyle of people around the world is becoming faster in phase as time goes by. The result of this is that they depend more on things that can help them get most of their needs and complete their tasks easier and faster. Some of these tasks are shopping, paying their bills, sending gifts, communicating with colleagues, looking for information and even applying for loans. This is just exactly what the World Wide Web can offer people.

With the age of time, there has come a change in communication for humans. Businesses and jobs can be successfully handled through the use of emails and text. Amidst all of these electronic changes, we, humans even have Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Youtube, which is a social network. What happen to social events in buildings were people were able to talk face to face to one another.

Somehow, amidst our infatuation with Facebook, YoutTube, Twitter, and like young adults are still making time for another one of their favorite pursuits: reading magazines. Contrary to popular misperception, the phenomenal popularity of the Internet has not come at the expense of magazines. Whats changed isnt peoples affinity for magazines but the means by which they acquire them- ordered online. And just as the Internet drives magazine subscriptions, magazines drives web searches- with nearly double the effectiveness of Internet itself. Some might call it ironic.

There is a phenomenal rate of increase knowledge of the Internet. Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Youtube is growing by millions of people across the world talking to one another and sharing hopes, dreams and dramas over an internet connection. The Internet drives some of us mad, happy, sad and curious. We tend to turn on our computer, laptops, phones and go directly to our social network. We even post every time we change locations. We post comments about other people in their work places. I can see where it helps in some cases keeping in touch with one another through online. But there are cases where we need to block a person or people so they cannot know what we are doing and where we are going.

I call the Internet era an ironic change of events. The medium that some predicted would vanish magazines and books is actually helping growing their growth and vice versa. I hope that with the internet, people do not vanish into their own homes, and become coach potatoes and that we students dont vanish into our own cyber world and forget what we are here for.

My Life With Jesus Christ

I love You Jesus!

MY ...before He came into my life, I was so self-centered. My favorite word is "I". I thought that life is for me and me alone. I don't give importance to whom created me and why He created me. I thought that what I have ever wanted will be the purpose in life. But still, I'll have to admit that I felt so bored with the life I had. My heart shouted peace and joy yet the life I live offer me nothing. thus...

LIFE ...it is a life quest to look for the missing part in my life. I am looking for a thing that can satisfy my self-centeredness. I didn't have a boyfriend since birth, but I have barkadas and family who will be there for me yet the emptiness is still there. Worst is the world entertainment can't offer anything to fulfill my soul's desire. But...

WITH ...God nothing is impossible. YES. Since, I never give up searching, looking! And asking myself why should I live? And what is really the meaning of life? Why I have to do this or that? Why I have to laugh? Why I need to cry? Why i can't be content? Yes! life for me before is full of questions. I am afraid to die because I am not yet ready and I don't want to spend my eternity in Hell! I don't know where to go; like a ship not knowing its destination. I am still lost and how I long for an assurance from somebody who can answer all my questions in life. I tried my very best to be satisfied yet no matter what I do, I never find contentment...not until I met...

JESUS ...God sent somebody for me to know His way and told me that Jesus, only Him, holds the keys and He is more than willing to give it to you too. Thus, His precious blood is the perfect sacrifice, to give back to us the paradise that were lost since the fall of man...." From the moment that I receive Him as my personal Lord ad Savior, I know deep in my heart that He had already paid the penalty of my sins. By his crucifixion He bought me and faithfully gave me the keys of happiness, joy and the only thing that matters most, being at peace with God and having eternal life through Him. He made me realize and open my eyes to see the beauty of His creation. To be able to glorify and worship His love and everlasting grace and mercy. So I, together with Jesus Christ, can conquer anything and now by God's grace, I can faithfully say that though. With Jesus Christ, now, I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.. Yes, indeed, Jesus makes the those impossible made possible. Now I dare say, My life with Christ is COMPLETE.

POEMS

When I say 'I am a Christian'
By: Carol Wimmer

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
I'm whispering "I was lost"
That is why I chose this way.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
And need someone to be my guide.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And pray for strength to carry on.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed.
And cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are all too visible,
But God believes I'm worth it.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
Which is why I speak His name.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I'm loved.
