Danjuro is the only son of Davis and Mika Motomiya. Danjuro prefers to be called Dan by his family and friends. He's inherited his father's maroon hair and has his mother's baby blue eyes. Dan has his father's personality and can act slightly similar to his best friend Dawn Kamiya.

Dan's not taken up his father's place as leader of the new DigiDestined but plays an important part in the team. He's the comedian of the group as he loves to make jokes. But sometimes he doesn't know when to quit with the jokes and get serious when in the Digital World and in serious situations.

Dan has a very close friendship with Dawn. They've been best friends since they were babies and can almost always be seen together. They're both on the school's soccer team and share a passion for the sport. They are sometimes known as the troublesome twosome as they love playing pranks together.
