To the
Friendship
Page
Who do we call friends, but those who give us a word of encouragement,
a smile, a hug, when life is not going our way. Sometimes not even our own
family have shared our tears, our sorrows or our fears when life is treating
us so harshly. And in the good times our friends are there to share our happiness
and our triumphs, our joys and our success. Some of these friends are met
on the net never to have seen their faces except maybe in a .gif form or
a voice message. But they are there for us. As true friends we are also there
for them to give them support, love, a helping hand or a word of encouragement
when they are feeling lonely or blue. This is what true friendship is all
about, about caring, loving selflessly and giving to others a little of our
lives. I dedicate this page to all the prayer warriors in the world who know
what true christian love is and who give a part of themselves to others by
being "A Friend Who Cares"!!!
What A Friend We Have in Jesus
By Charles C. Converse
What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins
and grief to bear; What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer.
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear; All because
we do not carry everything to God in prayer. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged, take it to the
Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows
share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer. Are
we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still
our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake
thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer. In His arms He'll take and shield thee,
thou wilt find a solace there.
God Gives Us Friends
By Regina Hill:
God gave us the seasons -- each with its
own beauty and reason, each meant to bring us a blessing, a joy, and a feeling
of love. God gave us dreams -- each with its own secret, each sent to give
us feelings of inspiration, hope, and tranquility. God gave us the sunshine,
the rainbows and the rain, the beauty and freedom of nature to teach us the
wisdom of gentle acceptance. God gave us miracles in our hearts and lives,
little things that happen to remind us we're alive. God gave us the ability
to face each new day with courage, wisdom, and a smile from knowing that
whatever sorrow or pain we face, He abides with us securely in our hearts.
Most of all, God gave us friends to teach us about love and guide us through
this world, always available to help us forward towards a greater understanding
and a greater sharing and giving of love.
True Friends
There are many people
that we meet in our lives
but only a very few
will make a lasting impression
on our minds and hearts
It is these people that we will
think of often
and who will always remain
important to us
as true friends
-Poem by Susan Polis
Schut-
"A friend is someone who reaches for your
hand and touches your heart"
