4 August - 7 September 1942
Mr. Kleiman and Mr. Kugler were taken to this prison, the prison on Amstelveenseweg, on 4 August 1944 and were held here until September 7th. Then they were sent to Weteringschans prison (or "Huis van Bewaring": House of Detention — not pictured) for four days before being sent to the Amersfoort police transit camp, headed for forced labor.

5-8 August 1944:
The eight people who had hid in the secret annexe were taken from the S.D. Headquarters on the Euterpestraat to the prison on the Weteringschans on August fifth. There they were held for three days and then sent on to Westerbork (via a locked train from Centraal Station).

The Weteringschans prison has been demolished. LSMOAF has a 1987 photo of the prison, taken from the rear/canal side. LSMOAF also has several period photos of the subsequent places Anne Frank was sent to: see the second photo section.

This is the end of this Anne Frank Amsterdam photo tour. You can return to the main page to see if you missed anything. See also after the raid for more details and for references.
