Rob: The maypole is behind us, we are in the centre of the glade. The air is still. It is summer.

Barry: It is summer, late afternoon, or early evening. The grass seems trodden. There are small offerings by the maypole - bones - rag - flowers and seeds.

Rob: I feel drawn towards the cave this time. There is still the presence of things in the wood that are not directly discernable. A large hare has just entered the glade between the cave and us. It sits erect and looks at us. It has bright knowing eyes. Now it has kicked and run away.

Barry: It seems like the time for hunting. I don't know whether to hunt in animal guise or human form.

Rob: Hunting for what?

Barry: Power objects.

Rob: I want to go to the cave, but feel the time is not right to leave the circle just yet. There is something more to be done here.

Barry: I have the idea that each of the ten stones represents one of ten totem animals of the circle. There is something to learn from each. I have the urge to paint shapes of the animals onto the stones.

Rob: Mmmm.

Barry: To help to draw it's power into the circle.

Rob: Nothing is happening because things are waiting on us. I would like to summon the wolf. I can see her more clearly. It's a she wolf. She lopes into the circle and sits looking at me with benign amusement.

Barry: Can the wolf help in the summoning of other animals?

Rob: The wolf and the kestrel can be summoned, but the others must be firstly caught, and secondly named correctly. We must discover their names. The North facing stone represents man - the hunter.

Barry: Another animal I can see clearly is a large fish, a salmon or trout.

Rob: The wolf refers to the fish as 'Bright One', as its scales shine and reflect light.

I am being told how man is becoming increasingly lost, and cut off from feeling his unity with other animals. He sees himself as a thing apart. The journey back from that distance is not easy.

Barry: I don't feel anything further.

Rob: The wolf is telling me that you should carry a holed stone on your person, next to yourself, and I should also wear a stone. We should use them as a focal point, to become aware of the earth within us, and our solidity, and build it within ourselves. If we do this our vision of this temple will be clearer.

I have also seen a mask in the form of a jester in a gold coloured metal. It is the fool as he begins its journey back up the tree, and the mask is its emblem. Also the wolf suggests that we familiarize ourselves with the runes before we cast them in the cave, so that we can interpret them there and then.

Notes: Ghob was then thanked as we left the temple.
Our geomancy box made a cracking sound, we presume as the wood expanded.
