Late entry fees apply; if you still wish to enter
With entries now officially closed, late entries can be accepted if you are prepared to pay the $22 late entry fee and provided there is space on the shooting line for that Flight.  But hurry!, 'cos we need to get programmes printed and other preliminaries finalised.

Drug Testing a Possibility
Just another reminder that there is always the possibility that ASDA may be along to do testing and therefore competitors should make sure that they are registered with Archery Australia 's Anti-Doping Control Officer, if they take banned substance medications.  Note: Until changes are accepted by the Australian Sports Commission, archers competing in the Under 12, Under 14 or Veterans' divisions are still subject to testing.

Teams Events
Just a reminder (prompted by our friends in Victoria) that Rule 3.3.6 provides for a Compound Team Event and a Recurve Team Event.  Recognised Governing Bodies wishing to nominate their teams can do so at their leisure, but do not have to announce their final composition until 30 minutes before the Championships commence.  Composition of each team (compound or recurve) shall be up to 4 competitors, male and/or female and from any age group.  Each team may be accompanied by up to 2 team officials.  Each RGB may only enter one compound team and one receurve team.  Results will be derived in each division by the best 3 scores shot.

Entry Forms are Out and the Closing Date has been extended
With the late publication of "The Australian Archer" (containing the entry form for this event), the closing dates have been extended.  Clearly, potential entrants are urged to submit entry forms through their Recognised Governing Body Secretary as soon as possible, but the official closing date has been pushed out to 21st May.  The entry form is also available on-line here .  Obviously, this will mean that the allocation of targets will not be available until a little later, but we do anticipate their publication on this Website by the middle of June.  It should also be noted, the Organising Committee has erred in the setting of the Judging Levy, a fee collected on behalf of Archery Australia .  This fee should be $10, not $5 as previously published.  As a consequence, letters of apology will be sent to entrants explaining the need to collect another $5.  This can be paid by entrants at the time of registration in Adelaide.

Entry Forms - a Glitch
The entry forms are in the current edition of "The Australian Archer".  The problem is, this publication was supposed to be out in circulation before Easter.  The Organisers have been assured the publication will be out within 7 days, but this puts pressure on those wishing to enter as the official close of entries is 30th April.  The Committee will be meeting this week to consider what it will allow in terms of late entries.  Please note at this stage RGBs should still work to the 14th May date for the forwarding of entries.  Individuals are reminded of the requirement to send their entry forms and payments to their RGB Secretary.

Good News for Veterans
The Rules Committee has advised that there is an error in the Rule Book relating to the disciplines which can be competed for by Veterans (refer 3.3.3).  The Rules fail to mention that Veteran Barebow and Veteran Crossbow sections should apply.  The Rules Committee anticipates an editorial correction to remedy the situation.  It should be noted that the sections have been competed for and accepted by archers for the past two Indoor Nationals (in Adelaide and Perth).

Dates
The dates of 13th and 14th July have been selected to coincide with the mid-year school holidays enjoyed by the majority of States to maximise the opportunities for juniors and families.

Adelaide for 4 years
Adelaide is the venue for the Indoor Archery Championships for 2002 through to 2005.  The 2002 event will be held at "The Parks" at Angle Park, site of the archery event for the 7th Australian Masters' Games in 1999 and of the 8th Australian Indoor Archery Championships in 2000.
