E-mail Address: [email protected]
Proposed Vignette: [Event]: Miss Saigon, Manila Season
Justification: An appropriate thing to appreciate the Filipino Artists who took part in the staging of this play worldwide. Although, the production is really foreign but without the Filipino Artists, Miss Saigon would mean nothing. Now, that this play will be shown in the country, I think its an honor to host this prestigious event.

[ABdA’s note: I agree, it's really an honor. This event popularized the Philippines as a country which has enormous potential in theatre and performing arts.

Proposed Vignette: [Event]: Centennial of Silliman University
Justification: Silliman University, in Dumaguete City is the oldest Protestant University in the country. It was founded on 1901 by American protestant missionaries. As it mark her 100th year, she deserves to be honored consistent with her contribution to the development not only on the educational but more so in the moral and spiritual development of leader mostly in Visayas and Mindanao.

[ABdA’s note: A very good suggestion. Of the Mindanao-based academes, only Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City have been featured in a stamp!]

Submitted: March 01 00:38:53 2000
E-mail Address: [email protected]
Proposed Vignette: [Event]: Baguio Flower Festival
Justification: I nominated the Baguio Flower Festival because we must honor our very own festivals and one of them is the flower festival in Baguio.

[ABdA’s note: This festival is popularly called 'PANAGBENGA']

Submitted: November 14 22:07:05 1999
E-mail Address: [email protected]
Proposed Vignette: [Person]: Filipino Teachers
Justification: Education International have urged respective philatelic and postal administrators to issue special stamps honouring teachers that would represent a significant token of appreciation for their social contribution and would be of benefit to educators, education and all nations as we step into the next century. Thus, it would truly be a national shame if the Philippines is not among the collection of teachers stamps for the Tenth World Teachers' Day on October 2003.

[ABdA’s note: This is long overdue! Hey, PhilPost . . . what about it, huh?]
