This period is easily recognizable by a new font types used for the country name. , this font which began in November
1968 was used until June 4,
1973. The Jade Vine 15s multicolored, issued in June 9,
1975, however, used this font as well as ASEAN 10th Anniversary 1.5p green and multicolored issued in August 8,
1977. This was followed with another font, , on September 24,
1973 and still another, , in December 1,
1976.
Four series were issued during this decade. The Tourist Type of 1970 was first issued on November 12,
1970. The second batch came out on February 15,
1971; the third set on April 19, 1971 and the last four stamps on May 3, 1971.
The supposedly but erroneously dubbed as the Evolution of Philippine Flag Series was issued in June 12,
1972 in time for celebration of Philippine Independence Day.
Heroes and Heroines Portraits were issued from
1973 to
1974, both in perforation 14½ and imperforate.
Portraits II were also issued in
1975 to
1976 both in perforation 12½,
watermark 373 and
imperforate.
Special Issues were also numerous. Sea Shells came out on October 19, 1970. Tropical Fishes was issued on August 14, 1972. Pottery Series issued on November 29, 1972. Forest Conservation was issued on May 19,
1975 printed
se-tenant in sheets of 100.
1972, the birth year of Martial Law, ironically produced 29 types in 67 issues coming out on an average of two types per month.
The last airmail stamp was issued on September 20, 1976.
