Campground Information
The idea of having a campground was sparked by a few of our members who saw a need for a decent place to camp during Thunder in the Valley. Thunder in the Valley has grown over the last decade to the point that it is near impossible to get a hotel room within 75 miles of Johnstown and there are not very many campgrounds in the area either. So, Cambria Summit A.B.A.T.E. decided to try and do something about this problem by providing a decent and affordable camping environment/party place for bikers that want to come to the area during Thunder in the Valley.

The campground is located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Johnstown. There are "by the day" rates or rates for multiple days of stay. We are also giving "couples discounts" for any multi-day admissions.

There will be many different vendors on site. There will be bike games, a DJ, bands and other entertainment held inside an enclosed arena (weather will not not be an issue!!)

Look around this website for more information about what is going on. Please stop by our "Links" page and support our sponsors. And, if you have any questions or would like to reserve Camper/RV space, please check our "Contact Information" page.

ABATE of Pennsylvania Information
A.B.A.T.E. is the “Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education.” It is an organization of motorcyclists dedicated to the protection of the individual rights of motorcyclists through political change, public education, and charitable works. As part of this mission, ABATE is active in the elimination of unfair legislation as it concerns motorcyclists; promoting motorcycle safety through both motorist and rider education; and improving the image of motorcyclists to the general public.

ABATE’s goal and purpose is to keep motorcyclists, members, and the public informed, to promote safe riding habits, and to encourage favorable legislation for motorcyclists. This is accomplished through a monthly newsletter, e-mail alerts, safety & education programs, working with the state and federal legislators, and voter registration promotion.

Since 1983, A.B.A.T.E. has represented the interests of motorcyclists riding Pennsylvania's roads. Through a variety of programs, A.B.A.T.E. is working to protect and preserve the rights of over 750,000 licensed motorcyclists. Regardless of whether you enjoy touring, or cruising, A.B.A.T.E. of PA is here to serve Pennsylvania’s motorcyclists, and to protect and promote their right to ride.

To ride free is not a free ride.
