Raids are a cornerstone of the Destiny gameplay experience. They lean more heavily towards the MMO aspect of the experience in comparison to the franchise’s other gamemodes. In essence, each raid is a 6 player cooperative delve. Throughout a raid or raid lair, players players will be faced with several raid encounters. Each encounter will pose a significant challenge that requires skill, power and coordination to overcome. Only the most experienced of players will be able to conquer a raid’s final encounter and emerge victorious.
The Vault of Glass is a continuation of Destiny 1’s vanilla story. This raid will take you deep into the heart of the Vault of Glass, a Vex structure that bears an unseen power. Delving into the Vault is not without risk, as every obstacle encountered along the way bears the threat of erasure from time itself. Are you the first team to ever attempt to explore the vault? The Vanguard has no record of such an attempt ever being made, however the loot you uncover bears evidence to the contrary… Click here for a guide to this activity
The culmination of the Dark Below’s story. This raid will take a fireteam deep into Hive territory, within a temple dedicated to the Hive Prince; Crota. While his plans to return were thwarted during the Dark Below’s main campaign, within his throne world, Crota remains a threat. The immediate threat posed by Oryx, The Taken King has dissipated with his defeat in the expansion’s main campaign. However, Oryx is not dead. Like his son, Crota, he must be killed within his throne world in order to truly be defeated. This raid will take the player deep into the heart of Oryx’s throne world, where many of Oryx’s fiercest generals will aim to prevent them from reaching his true throne and eliminating him once and for all. During Rise of Iron’s main campaign, the player will have put an end to the immediate threat that SIVA poses by destroying its primary replication chamber. However, this does not completely put an end to Devil Splicer’s schemes. This raid will take the player into the heart of the Devil Splicer territory, with the sole purpose of eliminating the Splicer’s main chain of command, and putting an end to the SIVA crisis, once and for all.
