or "I Wish I Had a Service Bell"

Welcome to Plan Duckling!

Please excuse the current state of confusion, but we are in the process of updating and improving our site.

Lou's latest update.... Amazed and shocked to find this website still here, after years of neglect, I thought it was time for another update! Still in Nottingham, entangled in the compexities of my degree, I am unaware of the current whereabouts of my other half! I may take this opportunity (as my degree really isn't that taxing), to radically transform this site, while still maintaining the most entertaining and amusing items... I must first seek the approval of the missing link (Alexa) but check back for ongoing improvements! (March 2002)

It looks like you have somehow stumbled across our general page of insanity on the World Wide Web. We have been asked so many times "Why ducks?", "Plan Duckling?", and "What the...?" we thought we'd offer an explanation to all the poor lost souls out there who have no clue what we're talking about.

It all started one day after school sometime in November or December '96... (insert squiggly lines and flashback music here)...
Alexalou (Ainsley and Deborah, respectively... that name is another story...) was conversing about a science project which had been thrust upon it by a certain physics teacher (read more about *that* in "I Wish I Had a Service Bell"), when it had the brilliant idea of using the time when it would meet to work on the science project to covertly create a Web page. "Plan Duckling" was used to refer to this scheme so that everyone else would be even more confused than Alexalou already was, and, to make a long story short, a site was born! Hurray!

UPDATE.....

As this site has not been updated for AGES, I (that's the lou part of Alexalou) feel I must explain what I (that's the entire Alexalou persona) have been up to lately... You see, we have been scattered to opposite ends of the Earth (well, not quite, but half in Vancouver, Canada, and half in Nottingham, England) in our great quest for infinite knowledge. Alexa is currently slaving away at the International Baccalaureate (aaah, TOK and extended essays!) while Lou, who has completed this exciting enterprise, is now studying the highly interesting subject of Chemistry of Materials at the University of Nottingham.

I hope this brief update will cause you to be even more interested in our all too exciting lives and that you will thus read the info found on the pages with great interest...

Yours ever so tiredly (it's been a long term and I need to sleep!

...Lou

FURTHER UPDATE.....

As I (the Alexa part of Alexalou) now feels guilty for not having updated this site in ages, I feel I ought to contribute to Lou's above update... Unfortunately, she's already pretty well brought you up to date on the recent developments in our fabulously interesting lives. So, rather than adding to her brief biographical sketch, I'll instead ask a question to you, dear reader:

Is there actually a reader or are we simply talking to ourselves on our nigh-incomprehensible web page?

Just curious. Feel free to respond in our guestbook, should you exist.... Have a nice day! :-)

Comtemplatively yours,

...Alexa
