Duo ducked as the alarms on the complex went off, and spun around cursing his luck as a group of guards rounded the other end of the hall. Where was his partner? He should have been here to watch his back. Unable to do anything but run and shoot, that's what he did.

Wufei was busy trying to find a way out when the alarms suddenly blared to life, almost deafening him as the sound ricochet off the walls. He covered his ears with both hands and scowled in the general direction of the alarm boxes themselves. Duo was extremely unhappy when he rounded a corner to see his partner standing there covering his ears. *What was he doing??* He moved quickly forward, eyes darting around for the guards he just lost. "What are you just standing there for? And you people call *me* Baka!"

"Huh? What the fuck are you doing here? You were supposed to be on the other side of the complex!" Wufei uncovered his ears and stared at the glaring braided man.

"Running. I did *not* set those alarms off! If I didn't either you did, or we aren't alone in here. I've been seen and I didn't kill them all, so move!" He started pushing at Wufei, unable to comprehend his refusal to save his own hide.

"Fine! Fine! Whatever you say Mr.-I-didn't-touch-it-thief" Wufei shouted over the din of the alarms and let himself be pushing in the direction Duo was leading him too.

"What the hell? I didn't do a damn thing! Sure there were a few things that might have been worth it in here, but I didn't do it! It's a base for Shinigami's sake! I do have some self preservation!" Duo kept his voice low and his eyes on the lookout. He was still confused, but he was also ready to make a run for it if any other signs of life showed besides the two of them.

"Keh! Whatever! Let's just get out of here. I'd like to escape here intact." Wufei picked up his pace and started to make his own path, not really knowing where he was going.

"Don't get pissy with me!" Duo pulls his gun, turning and running backwards a few paces as he had to cover their backs, guards coming into his sight. "I didn't set the place off damn it!"

"Smart ass." Wufei cursed under his breath and just pulled out his gun, very angry at Duo.

Duo would have turned a glare on Wufei had his attention not been already consumed by the guards that suddenly seemed to be coming from all directions, his eyes hard and deadly as he saw the hopeless situation they'd come to be in. "All who see Shinigami here shall die!" Wufei blinked hearing Duo speak and calmly opened fire, in an almost Zen like trance as he slowly reached for the spare magazine, knowing that he would need it if they wanted to get out of here alive.

Duo growled low in his throat, eyes narrowed from under the brim of his hat as he quickly fired off shots. He heard the rasp of radios on the edge of his perception as more people arrived. *Where were they all coming from?* It was a jumbled thought that crossed his mind as he failed to duck back quickly enough, a bullet catching his leg and making him stumble in their flight. They might have still had a chance had the next corner they turned not been blocked by more security. One of the people, who appeared to be in charge shouted to the others, "Take them alive!"

"Shit." Wufei cursed and fired off four rounds, taking out the commander and his lieutenants in a few easy shots, his short amount of time training to be a pilot coming to the fore. All that was left of those soldiers were the grunts. Wufei quickly lowered himself the ground and loaded another clip into his gun. He reached into his knapsack and threw out a tear gas grenade and launched it towards the soldiers.

Duo ducked back against the wall. "They have more coming up! I'm shot man, they fucking shot Shinigami!" Duo's eyes held a dark fire as he continued to shoot, coming to the end of his clip and quickly slamming a new one home to resume. They weren't going anywhere, and they were almost out of ammo, but the people just kept coming. It was like the entire thing was a well-planned trap.

"Let me see." Wufei responded calm as ever. He placed a hand on Duo's arm, encouraging him to let him look.

"They got my leg." Duo twisted his body, allowing him to defend Wufei while he saw how bad it was, even though he knew they literally have their backs against the wall here, and appeared to be surrounded.

Wufei carefully pressed two fingers into a portion of Duo's calf; a faint smirk crossing his face even though he was checking wound severity in the middle of a firefight. "Does that hurt?"

"No shit! Just leave it alone, we might have a chance here, I'm on my last clip, you?" The people weren't shooting at them anymore and Duo saw some weapons he despised coming out. Electric prods and trank rifles.

"I have two more. A few grenades, some flash bombs. I have a stun gun as well." Wufei slowly got to his feet. "I always have my fists and my feet. I may go down, but I'm taking them with me." His voice was firm and determined, no trace of his fear seeping in.

Duo cursed to himself as his gun clicked empty and dropped it, reaching for his explosives. He was damn well going to take them out too. He never even realized he'd been caught by one of the trank darts until he saw he was moving slower than he should have been. "Damn it!"

"Duo??" Wufei asked nervously... He was wondering what was going on, and he didn't want to be alone with so many opponents. He finally spotted the bright red tails sticking out from the back of Duo's neck. Growling, he reached over and yanked it out harshly before more of the sedatives could get into Duo's system. Wufei fired off two more shots, hitting the men with tranquilizer guns right between the eyes. They went down but others picked up their guns and continued to aim, not even sparing a moment to their fallen comrades as they became consumed by the need to capture the two pilots.

Duo never stood a chance, the drug a new and effective one that made his vision swim horribly and he stumbled back against the wall, causing him to curse a storm. He knew that Wufei wouldn't stand a chance against this stuff if he was already going under with it. He was the less drug sensitive of the two; G had made sure he could handle the damn stuff.

Wufei quickly threw a flash bomb and a tear gas grenade at their attackers hoping to attack two senses at once and get some time to form some sort of plan. He loaded his second to last clip into his gun.

"Run man, go!" Duo's voice was wavering badly, and was slurred. He couldn't keep his eyes open and he felt himself sliding down the wall with the combination of drugs and blood loss.

"Duo?" Wufei asked, his voice slightly wavering as he saw Duo slump to the wall. "Kuso!" He ran to Duo and tried to get him out of the line of fire, dark eyes watching the group of men. There was no luck, they were well surrounded now, with their stopping even the brief few minutes enough to get them trapped. Duo murmured faintly and then was out cold, leaving Wufei to deal with the trank that found it's way into the back of his shoulder.

Wufei felt the pain of the needle immediately and reached for it, yanking it out. He winced as he yanked the barbed dart. *It hurt more coming out than it had going in!* He fell to his knees dropping Duo completely as the drug swept into his system. Wufei fired random shots now, trying to take down as many as he could before he lost all movement. One of the guards approached him from the left and Wufei snapped around, jabbing the dart right into the man's right forearm. Wufei then put a bullet through his chest. Seeing his flagging reactions another dart nailed Wufei in the side, the men with the cattle prods converging on the pair. Wufei threw his last flash bomb over his left shoulder in desperation as his vision wavered again, now he was seeing triple. *Damn these drugs! Must be new...I've developed a tolerance to the others!*

With his last few ounces of strength, he reloaded his last clip and fired off with his eyes closed, hoping he was managing to at least hit some of them. Wufei fell to the ground, covering Duo's prone body with his own even as he was worried about those electric prods. *I still have my stun gun...* Wufei blinked as sounds started to sway together. He was running out of ideas...and consciousness... fast. The guards didn't wait for the drugs to finish their work, prodding Wufei with their electric prods as they saw he was still moving. Wufei, still slightly conscious, felt the first shocks of pain before he passed out completely. As he finally went down, the guards converged on them, taking pains that they didn't regain awareness for an extended amount of time. As ordered.
