These pages are a record of my trip to New York from September 15th to 24th, 1998. They may or may not be of interest to others. I chose New York for all kinds of reasons. It's always been on my list of places to visit, but it has been promoted to the top of that list largely because of my circumstances. The ideal American holiday for me would be to take six months off and hire a car, travelling from town to town road movie style. But money and time are not (at this point) unlimited. New York is ideal because there's plenty to see and do, it's cheap to get to.
