WELCOME TO SALSA LINEA

Salsa Linea is a dance group that specializes in casino rueda, which is a very social, "group" form of salsa dancing.

Rueda originated in Cuba in the l950s. The dance requires two or more couples and is done to lively salsa music. Between the frequent partner exchanges and the beautiful, complex steps, this dance makes quite a vivid and joyful spectacle. It is thrilling to watch and exciting to do.

All of the rueda moves can be done not only by a group but also by a couple that is dancing "one-on-one." Thus, learning this form of salsa makes people excellent and versatile dancers.

For information on performances or entertainment that can be provided, visit this website: www.danceintimeproductions.com.

If you are interested in contacting Gary Pennington, Barbara Bernstein, or anyone from Salsa Linea, write to [email protected]. Your letter will be forwarded to the individual that you designate.

And here is an idea: Order the new CD "Rhythm Reminder" designed for practicing salsa, swing, cha cha and foxtrot. In this CD, a voice over the music counts the beat for you so you can concentrate on the steps! Contact www.DanceInTimeProductions.com for ordering information.

Check out the article about Rueda in the magazine "5678 Swing." It has a great description of casino rueda. Also, read the Washington Post article about rueda here.
