Russ Franzen is a 1985 (1977, actually, but that is a long story) graduate of Southern Illinois University- Carbondale. After 14 years in radio and television, he turned his attention to the print media. He also worked in the district court system in Michigan as a probation officer, court administrator, and magistrate. He is an award-winning writer and columnist. For the past few years, he has been writing and performing songs about Michigan and Great Lakes history.
Mr. Franzen is available for musical performances, book signings and discussions. He is also available for freelance writing assignments.
